Difficult to say when Crawford will begin to show serious signs he’s passed his prime years. As soon as he does the fight becomes less and less meaningful. Floyd/Pac, for instance, was an echo of what might have been.Comment

Hmm, I'm going to go with Yes, the fight is over and I'll give my reason, (let me play devi's advocate here) check this out:
Why would Spence fight Crawford and potentially lose his undefeated record when he can move up to 154 and have it easy with good cash, gimme fights provided to him by Haymon? Spence can even go up to middleweight and make a life changing, money fight with the cash cow Canelo. Why risk it all with someone like Crawford who is not a PPV attraction?Comment

It's not meant to happen. At least not before the year ends. Someone in that PBC camp thought it would be bigger next year, or the year after. I don't think such particular guy gives a F about fans clamoring to see the fight now.Comment

the whole fight is basically meaningless if one of them goes out of prime & on the slide, spence may already be damaged goods after his issues & crawfords clock is ticking fast, it was now or never i think & someone or both blew it bigtime, this building brand stuff is very bad for fights getting made prime v prime, aging is a tactic in boxing unfortunately, people can recover from losing that 0, its more an ego thing and a fan thing i think some just unwilling to look bad and prefer some calling them a ducker if they still got that 0 & winning fantasy fights all the timeComment

Spence is a rugid beast if he pressures and fights forward. Crawford might actually brawl out of pride instead of box which could be risky for him.Comment
