I think he was just making a point that one fight not happening won't harm his legacy much because he is still a 3 division champ, former undisputed champ and one of the top p4p fighters of his era.

If the fight happens (and he wins) it would enhance his legacy and he acknowledges that. Imo the only way this fight not happening would really harm his legacy was if it was a clear duck by him. I don't think that is the case at the moment because I haven't seen Crawford making any crazy demands.

The same can be said of every boxer. There are a few household names from long ago. Everyone knows Ali, Foreman, Tyson, etc. Last guy everyone knew was Floyd. Canelo has a big fan base but he isn't any of those guys. Honestly, given enough time, no one will remeber any of it. We all just want to act like the biggest fighters should fight because we, the fans, want it.

This sport has fallen off big time because of promoter bull****. We are living the reality of the death of the sport because of it. It will likely always exist, but even now, the sport is below frickin mma. It is sad.

If he goes up to 154 and beats Charlo it won't. Otherwise, it does. Crawford needs to lose whoever is advising him.

Well, Nelo stepped up to fight Bivol and people still say he needs to fight benevidez or whoever. So Bud beats Charlo, thats excellent. But there will still be people out there who think SPence beats Bud and is the no1 WW. Bud can still have a great legacy without Spence, but its a legacy where people dont know if he could beat Spence.

Being a 3 division champ doesn't mean much in these times. Fighters position vacants or weak nobodies to get a belt, history will forget him just like they forgot Calzaghe or Hatton.

P4P rankings are fake and have lost their way.

Fighters get remembered for who they fought, not accolades on paper.

Hey Mr. Idec, you don't really need to, you know, quote Crawford word-for, you know, word, and write "you know" every single time he says "you know" because, you know, he likes to say "you know" quite a, you know, lot. You know?

I don't agree with that. The achievements have merit too. Crawford will be remembered and introduced as "former 3 weight world champion"

Is Spence going to be remembered and introduced as "former welterweight champion" or "former welterweight champion who beat Danny Garcia, Ugas and younger versions of Kell Brook and Shawn Porter"?

Just look at the names above , I don't think I remember any one of them shouting about being the best in he sport.....and they all would have a decent shout. I've been lucky enough to have a sit down with Hagler and Hearns on separate occassions and there wasn't even an hint of that kind of talk .
Did you post an account of that on here? Love to read it

I don't see in any way shape of form how Spence is a better fighter than Charlo, maybe he has better stamina but Charlo is as athletic, better ko record in top fights against quality competition.

I'd see Brian Castano giving Spence fits. So if Bud beats Charlo and never fights Spence, he will improve his legacy and have a better legacy than Spence [assuming Spence doesn't get some wild win]
