Crawford just needs to fight this dude, sure it sucks he's getting the raw end of the deal here but lets not kid ourselves, these guy don't generate MayPacCanelo type of numbers. The big pay deals will come, Bud's just going to have to bite the bullet on this one.
Spence has more opportunities to fight at 154 and maybe even 160 (possibly a game changing money fight with Canelo); Crawford doesn't because his limit is 147 and if he goes any higher in weight, than he'll lose his 0.
Hey Mr. Idec, you don't really need to, you know, quote Crawford word-for, you know, word, and write "you know" every single time he says "you know" because, you know, he likes to say "you know" quite a, you know, lot. You know?
I was losing brain cells reading that article. You know?
Delusional dud is at it again. He’s an idiot. He considers himself a manny pacquaio level star. Thing is manny fought everyone in the divisions he cleaned out an the way to the top. Signature wins over morales,JMM, margarito, cotto, barrera. Dud considers his signature wins to be Ricky burns Julius indongo and gamboa. That says it all. Dud isn’t in touch with reality. Also his 25M offer has been found out to have been BS. One hedge fund offered 10M gaurantee to each fighter 20M total. And he not getting 10M to fight avensyan he’s getting 5M. All this is also “supposed” as BLK prime has less than 5000 people that have their platform that will be able to watch this fight. Also the fight is in Nebraska in less than a month and no tickets are on sale. Delusional dud about to get a wake up call. BLK prime had an event scheduled for nov 12 that never happened every event this “promotion” has ever scheduled has never happened there’s a really good chance this fight with avensyan goes the teo Vs kambumsauce route
I really thought we were going to get a good showing from him against top opponents. He just sat around waiting for that Pac shot that never came and fought subpar opponents or mandatories that supposedly he could not avoid. Waste of a career.
He never fought anyone and it was always because of negotiations. He has not even one marquee name, he has named opponents that were past their prime. Postal was to he only prime fighter that he fought and that is just not enough.
He keeps on talking about his titles and it is not like he went through murder row to get them. A guy with his talent should had fought better opposition.
Totally agreed and if he keeps this going I'm afraid we'll never know if he was/is that good. A real shame.
"Crawford: I Really Don't Think It'll Damage My Legacy If Spence Fight Doesn't Happen"
This statement suggests that Crawford's not really pushing to fight Spence the way he claims to be. If a fighter really wants a particular opponent, he expresses that and that alone. He doesn't throw in a disclaimer that he doesn't really need the fight.
I don't agree with that. The achievements have merit too. Crawford will be remembered and introduced as "former 3 weight world champion"
Is Spence going to be remembered and introduced as "former welterweight champion" or "former welterweight champion who beat Danny Garcia, Ugas and younger versions of Kell Brook and Shawn Porter"?
In an era where it's easier to manipulate "achivements" no, it doesn't mean as much as it did yesteryear.
Crawford will not be remembered at all until he has signature wins or fights.
Who cares who's being introduced as what? Of course when introducing a champion, people are going to use lofty words. A lot of those guys out there, nobody gives a crap. When someone like Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Ali, etc enter a room or their name is mentioned =---> people KNOW. They don't need a list of accoldaes to recognize them. As far as the boxing community, pundits, and history books are concerned, Crawford is just another champ in a time of everybody and their mother got a belt.
Like I said before, fighters like Calzaghe who never dared to be great - he's already forgotten. I've mentioned his name to a lot of younger British men and they have no idea who I'm talking about.
