Calzaghe hunkered down in a dead division for literally 95% of his career. Finally moved up and dared to be great when the top dogs were extremely damaged goods and/or exceptionally long in the tooth. I guess you could call it a legacy (but more like dogfood), whatever you like.

As I have said elsewhere. Crawford is not a 23 year old trying to prove himself. If Haymon really wanted the fight he'd have given Bud a guarantee, talked to the backers Crawford had, etc. What he did was treat Crawford like a nobody. Spence isn't getting screwed over, he is a PBC in house fighter.
Crawford is 35 and has a few years left in his prime. He SHOULD be taking the biggest money he can get. It is a no brainer. He was willing to take less than he is worth to fight Spence, but he wasn't willing to get screwed. Respect the dude.

I also shared the Black Sports Online video exposing the real issue. I even just bumped it to help you out.
The fight was DONE and just needed Crawford to sign it. They gave him everything (other than split) that he wanted. The only catch is that the fight had to happen in January because of Crawford's delays and refusing to accept B-Side. It was too late to fight in 2022 because of him.
The reason Crawford walked is that he refused to fight beyond 2022.
SO...he used Spence's name to help his negotiations with Avanesyan a month after Spence called him out. Which is bad faith.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 11-18-2022, 06:20 PM.
