No Spence fight no legacy fight. It's a bit harsh on Crawford because he's taken belts off a lot of champs but he did it too easily. Say he's not as good as he actually is and goes blood and guts with Postol and Indongo and Burns. Probably get more props for beating champs. He's too good for his own good in that respect.

Pryor fought at light welter and didn't fancy the move up , as i.m sure you know ....but the fighters you mention with maybe the exception of Alexis who was a career lightweight would have all beaten him hands down (sorry maybe even Alexis actually) You are completely right he is delusional and keeps calling himself the best in the sport...from willing him on and looking forward in the past to his future , all's Bud does these days is irritate me. Just look at the names above , I don't think I remember any one of them shouting about being the best in he sport.....and they all would have a decent shout. I've been lucky enough to have a sit down with Hagler and Hearns on separate occassions and there wasn't even an hint of that kind of talk .

I really thought we were going to get a good showing from him against top opponents. He just sat around waiting for that Pac shot that never came and fought subpar opponents or mandatories that supposedly he could not avoid. Waste of a career.

He never fought anyone and it was always because of negotiations. He has not even one marquee name, he has named opponents that were past their prime. Postal was to he only prime fighter that he fought and that is just not enough.

He keeps on talking about his titles and it is not like he went through murder row to get them. A guy with his talent should had fought better opposition.

I like Bud Crawford, but if you fast forward 10, 20, and 30 years from now, Bud is not going to have a "legacy". No one except boxing historians will know who he is. Ali is not remembered because he fought La Mar Clark or Tony Esperti, or even Duke Sabadong. He is remembered because he fought Frazier, Foreman, and a murderer's row of the top heavyweights of his generation. The same can be said for Ray Leonard, Hagler, Ray Robinson, and all the other greats. Bud needs at least one legacy-defining fight to be remembered. Win or lose, with his resume Bud will not be remembered at all in a few years. That will be unfortunate because he is a once-in-a-generation talent who failed to challenge himself.

I can agree with this somewhat. But if we are being honest, we have entered a new era in boxing. One where promoters protect their fighters even at the highest levels. Fighters are not the same as they were 20 years ago, where legacy means as much.

The argument can be made that Crawford fought and won his belts in a weak era for the sport. Spence had the exact same issue though. There just aren't a bunch of all timers in the sport right now. I personally think Crawford is a far better fighter skill wise. Spence is freakish athletically, but he is very basic and isn't exciting.

I have always thought Spence needed Bud more than Bud needs him. I see a stoppage win for Bud and after the fact everyone will say Spence only fought PBC guys and the win will seem less impressive than we all think.

I'd love to see the fight, but Haymon does not want Bud hurting his investment. PBC has defined the "never take a risk" era of the sport. And Bud is 35, he has a few years of prime left. He should be fighting for the money at this point, he isn't a 23 year old prospect or something.

People that can't see what PBC is doing aren't paying attention. The sport is dying.

When you look back at, you know, ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard versus Aaron Pryor. They never fought each other and, you know, both of them is still considered two of the greatest fighters that ever fought.

Can’t believe this guy just compared his situation to that of Leonard/ Pryor. Those guys fought the elite and that is what helped solidify and define their careers as being great. Crawford has 1 good name on his resume, Porter.

Of course I do, but comparing himself to what they did is insane. They didn't have to fight each other because their resumes were good on their own. Crawfords resume sucks.

We need to know who's the best WW. Forget legacy talk that will take care of itself. We need to get off first base. If you really can beat spence, I'm sick of the 60% people thinking spence beats you.
