Charlo is fighting Tszyu, so that can't happen until at least next summer. In the meantime, I think Boots or Fundora are much better than Thurman!

        I agree with Hearn.
Spence vs Crawford is not as big of a fight as Fans think it is.

I can agree with Hearn a bit here.

boxing has marginalized itself so that there are no casual fans anymore. This was what made big fights possible. Now every decent fight is a PPV, and the general public doesn't even know who these guys are.

It's the fault of the media and fans who are represented by aggressive Youtubers. For years they kept asking the 2 fighters every chance they get why the fight can't be made. If that doesn't indicate the size of the fight, then people need to stop talking about it and move on.

Sorry to say, Crawford-Spence probably wouldn't do a million buys, and not sure it would do a half a million buys.

Many watch on uhm certain streaming sites, or a friend pays the ppv and they watch it together in a group.

I will say, if there really was someone who had a guaranteed $25m each for Terence and Errol and their teams, they should've taken it. That is, if the money was paid beforehand and cleared by the banks.

In their minds (anti-Haymon though they be), Haymon should eat it because "the fans want it". That's all they understand. And they're the reason why fights don't get done.

HBO isn't here to eat it. We have to move on.

All well and good, but this is the conflict at the heart of boxing isn’t?

I just want the fights, and yeah, I do think middlemen (promoters, etc.) should suck it, and get capped on percentage at the expense of the true risk taker, the boxer, because the middleman’s labour is overrated in terms of value added and actual work expended.

Ofc, they’re not gonna limit their earnings to make me or other fans happy, so both parties, consumer and provider, regularly find themselves at an impasse.

Seriously, I can count on one hand the amount of people I’ve come across in the last decade in various contexts who have raised boxing as subject matter, and in all cases, it’s to talk about casual fights.

Where tf are even 500,000 viewers gonna come from is what I’d ask. Hardly anyone watches boxing, let alone knows who these guys are.

there's no money or sense in fighting Fundora [ I mean, I'd like to see it but thinking from Spence's viewpoint]

                      - i could live with a Thurman fight if we'd be guaranteed a Bud/Charlo/Boots/Stanionis fight in the 2nd half of the year
