Is UFC more popular than Boxing in America?

And is boxing losing popularity worldwide?

Its apples to oranges really. Boxing as a sport is still more popular than MMA as a sport, but the UFC is by far the biggest single promotion in either sport.

Due to their marketability and the fact that they consistently put big ppvs out every month with their top fighters actually FIGHTING eachother, yes unfortunately it IS.

UFC is certainly a common fixture in many television sets in America. When you visit a friend, he'd rather show you UFC fights while waiting. Boxing is too boring to watch for most people. I rarely watch UFC, though.

No, UFC had its moment but it already peaked a few years back. UFC's problem is that they keep recycling fights over and over again. Boxing can get back on top if the networks/promoters stop beefing, work with each other and put on the fights boxing needs right now.

Two most popular fighters have 5 defeats and they still outdraw everyone combined in some cases. Let that sink in boxers. FMW's 0 stink is still killing boxing.

You say this when the biggest boxing matches in America since Floyd/Pac are by a wide margin the Canelo/GGG and Fury/Wilder trilogies....

The UFC had its biggest ever year for PPV last year. They spiked in popularity around 2008-2011, then again 2015-16, then again 2019-2021. It ebbs and flows like boxing.

But who are the big, house hold names? I haven't ordered a UFC fight since Cain vs Lesnar. UFC peaked, it was interesting when it started but it's boring now. All they have are girl fights, recycled fights and guys rolling around on the floor, nobody wants to see that. I mean where's the innovation?
