There's a reason the PBC has over 150 fighters and only 2 (excluding their opponents) have fight dates. That should speak volumes to any unbiased boxing fan.

Truth is, there's a changing of the guard at Showtime and they're likely done in boxing in the next 18 months. Al Haymon no longer has money to burn and he's quietly trying to strike a deal with a new network (Paramount subsidiary). If he doesn't have an undefeated, unified welterweight champion on his roster, he simply won't be able to sell his welterweight roster to any new network as none of them would be champions. They're pretty much minor league baseball if Spence loses before Haymon finds a new deal.

Crawford is 7-0 against PBC opponents. Al Haymon simply can't afford to put Spence in against Crawford and have him lose at this point. There's a reason Floyd came out and said the fight isn't happening this year before they ever announced the bogus Nov 4th date. Make an offer no fighter in his right mind of Crawford's stature should even think about, and let the fans do the rest. Fact 2, Spence called out Crawford to beat him for the last strap and become undisputed. Fact 3, Bud worked a deal behind the scenes during negotiations to fight Avenesyen for guaranteed money. My opinion is that he chose money over legacy. Your problem is that you can't see the facts through your Haymon and PBC hatred. Bud could have fought any of those champions over the last 3-4 years, but he chose to resign with Arum for the guaranteed money, knowing that Bob would never allow those fights to happen. Same old Crawford, same one belt, and now even as a free agent, someone waves a guaranteed money to fight a bum fight in his face, and he ditches out on the biggest fight of his career that he's said that he wanted so bad.
