No, sparring is controlled and sometimes uncontrolled fighting for real boxers. Done it plenty, watched champs do it plenty.

For 3 years I was a dedicated sparring partner for two world champs. They both liked me because I was good on my feet and hard to hit. I was many levels below their skill level, and several weight classes below so I went as hard as I wanted. If I somehow hurt one (which never happened), I would obviously look to dial it back but there were times one of them was trying to kill me dead in there. There was a few rounds I remember where I hardly threw anything at all because he was trying to knock me out and I'm talking 1 punch ko power.

I've been with him at away gyms where he's knocked fighters clean out and they would pay him for it.

Two guys that were really good used to whip on me in my early days, after a while I started doing the whipping because I learned their tricks.

You know why you don't see more sparring footage? Because it would influence the bookies and kill casinos. If I had that stuff when I was handicapping, I would be a multi-millionaire.

Lots of guys get dropped or knocked cold in sparring and it's not playing pitty pat. These cats are raising the war banner every session. Google Kronk Wars. I've got a lot of vhs tape on some old school pro's knocking each other out.

When you can walk the walk and know a thing or two you can't find on the internet, you can talk the talk and when someone like me speaks, you shut that yap and listen.
Not reading all of that Bullshi t.

Plebs saying he was rusty, he fought 10 months ago. Fighting 1x a year for a 35 year-old guy is beneficial and preferred.

Not much time left for old Lomachenki.
Whats wrong with acknowledging that Ortiz did have some boxing skills and athleticism? The kid was taller, and had longer arms. Don't forget that Loma also had rough spots against several of his previous opponents, none of which fought in the urban American style that Ortiz did. Young Loma would have had issues the same way had their been a tall, athletic, rangy boxer at featherweight. Loma looked so good against bums, midgets, and plodding crude guys that many of you started drinking the koolaid. He is good, a top level talent, but he would have, and always will have problems with guys his size or bigger, who can box and move with athleticism. Don't forget stiff Cambpell gave him some problems, as did Tank's son Pedraza.
