A bunch of undercard fighters today probably disagree. They just fought in a packed venue with lots of viewers. They're not getting those eyes on them without Paul.

It's frustrating that people associate this stuff with actual boxing, but if they're going to use the sport then maybe it's time to use it to Boxing's advantage. Stick a YouTuber as a co main event to get some of the biggest actual fights made. They'd draw huge audiences from boxing fans, casuals, and spotty teenagers.

Terrible movies will always have awesome opening weekends.

JP has a loyal ''following'' (don't know why).
People love following other people, regardless
IG ''influencers'' can make millions by doing nothing more than taking selfies.

Every cloud has a silver lining
If JP won't fight boxers, he at least has them on his card

Are the eyes staying on them when Paul is gone though? so far theres no real indication that thats the case.

See, this is my main issue with it. If Jake was on the undercard of an actual legitimate boxing match I wouldnt mind it, he'd just be a prospect with a built in fanbase working his way up, plus theres always been circus freakshow type stuff in boxing. But its the fact that this **** is the main event now, we're living in an era where a good chunk of the biggest drawing "boxing" PPVs involve Paul bros, MMA guys, exhibition fights between old boxers etc etc. Its jumped the shark.

          Those MFers DKSAB.
They are up on them ****** challenges, though.

He has yet to fight a boxer.
          End of story.
He fought a legit boxer last night who's opponents have a combined record of 86-29.

jake paul could pad his record with unknown cans like most boxers do.

You guys put too much value on " pro boxers" when all you need is pay your fees and get a license, we even had a youtuber destroy a "legit" boxer after having a war with a youtuber like a few minutes prio

No one is legit at that age

Not sure why people are touting Silva as a boxer in the real sense.
ANYONE OF US (barring deformities) can get licensed and be ''boxers''

            JP fans are desperate

He struggled with a 47 year old MMA fighter, I don't understand how Anderson Silva is a "real boxer" all of a sudden? Even the commentary in efforts to make Paul look good were saying **** like, "Silva looks like a real boxer tonight."

At least he's progressing to opponents who "look like real boxers."

How good is Silva in a boxing context really though? he has been a bum even in his own sport for a decade now, and his striking game was always geared towards MMA. Yeah, he beat Chavez jr, but Chavez is a ****ing train wreck and exactly the kind of guy who could **** up like that.

Silva is better than the losing record no hoper types that a lot of prospects face in the early stages of their career I guess, but then those prospects arent getting the money and attention Jake is and dont have the pull to lure big name MMA stars into switching sports to fight them.

youtubers arent "saving boxing" they are just replacing it.

the youtube fights have been going on for several years now. so if they "saved boxing" why did wilder only do 70k buys, where are all the "new" boxing fans?

basically the people wanting to see paul fight arent buying other fights
