There was hardly any comment from them when it was announced. It's funny because as someone mentioned, Lara has been calling out Golovkin for about a decade now and hardly a protest was lodged. And this call out is recent:

Same thing with Charlo. He and trainer Shields became silent when they learned GGG is no longer with DAZN and is a free agent. Seems he's no longer interested.

When Lara and Charlo mention GGG's name, don't take it seriously doe.

People without biases should be wondering why there was no acknowledgement from the Lara camp when WBA ordered the Golovkin vs Lara. Were they pleased with the news; where they happy, sad, got nervous, what? Why was there zero reaction to the mandatory order?
Did Arum grab an opportunity, though?

Or did he weasel his way into cutting in line?

You're pretending Arum is the only weasel in the sport, really? So what's the answer? Why was there zero protests in the Lara camp? They didn't even acknowledged the initial order. What happened to this?

I'm not pretending Arum is the only weasel in the sport.

I'm the only one in this thread questioning BOTH him and Haymon, trying to get to the bottom of what exactly went on behind the scenes.

It would be nice if a boxing journalist would get to the bottom of this but I'm not holding my breath.

Considering that G is 40 and getting closer to retirement, I'd like to see him in more high profile fights than throwaway fights like one against Falcao. That is unless he intends to stay active and fight 3-4 times a year before he calls it a day. But if he plans on fighting once or twice a year against these sort of guys, I think it does nothing to enhance his legacy. Future generations, unless they're boxing enthusiasts, will not look at the context of the Canelo GGG trilogy. History will declare that Canelo was the better man when we in present time know that GGG has at least one victory over Canelo if not two. I love G and want to see his legacy enhanced. Hopefully he becomes undisputed at middleweight before he retires.

You or anyone can come up with his own theory. But it's clear there was something missing that was not reported. Again, why was there no reaction from the Lara camp when the mandatory order between Lara and Golovkin was announced? Were they pleased with the order, happy, in celebratory mood knowing that this is presumably the fight Lara has been clamoring for?

But I do think the WBA was trying to clean their act and it was done in good faith, but something happened. Some folks didn't see it coming.

And on a side note, why is Jermall not stepping up to the plate and offer a unification fight which trumps all these mandatories? (But this is for another thread and subject.)

Lara vs Golovkin should be the right fight next. They're both in their 40s.

I expect Youtubers making their own investigation into this strange questionable development.

I would definitely not mind watching that. It's the fight I was hoping would get made next for G. The Falcao fight doesn't interest me. He's never tasted defeat, sure, but unless G really fell off, he'll win it convincingly. If the plan is to fight Falcao and follow it up with Lara in the next 2-3 months. I'm okay with it.

Bunch of BS. No one knows who Esquiva Falcao is. Lara was the money fight people would have paid to see. Jesus, now I see why boxing fans are leaving to watch the UFC.
