How can Floyd think he is better than Roy Jones? Does he literally think he is better?

this is not even debatable, Mayweather is the better "BOXER" however Roy was the better Athlete, Roy is the greatest Athlete I've ever seen in a pair of gloves

I'm only talking about their primes. Who got hit less in their primes?

This is nonsense that everyone here keeps repeating.... HOW is Mayweather a better "boxer"... Does he slip better punches than Roy? NO... Does he throw punches with greater technical finesse? NO.... Roy also has a TECHNICALLY better left hook. He also had incredible footwork.

One commentator, I think in the Vinnhy Paz fight, said that Roy had the best jab he had EVER seen... even better than sugar ray leonard... So again, another check in the "technical" "boxer" department.

My point is that Floyd is not technically more proficient at doing the the normal "boxer" things than Roy is.

Did you know that boxing is more than just offense? You can even mix them together, using defense to improve your own offense.

Floyd thinks he is greater than Robison, Ali, Leonard...why wouldn't he think he was greater than Jones? I wouldn't worry too much about what Floyd thinks, he lives in a narcissistic bubble, far removed from reality.

              You're WRONG! Respectfully!

from a Technical Standpoint Roy didn't everything WRONG, he would be a Trainers Nightmare from a Technical Standpoint I remember the late great Manny Steward saying something about this and how Roy does everything that a Trainer tells you not to do like "Fight With His Hands Down" but again Roy athleticism was so special he could get away with that style...until he ran into a Tarver who not only had Boxing Skills but TIMING. Time/Timing is Speed worst enemy!

Both Legends but from a TECHNICAL standpoint it is really not even close

I think it was more of that after the fact but people were giving opponents legitimate chances of beating him. Hardcore fans had a bit more discernment. There were a few fights where there were doubts about Floyd winning (real or imagined) but I don't recall people having that same feeling when Roy was at his peak.

Toney was expected to beat him.

Griffin rematch people thought was 50/50.

Few guys Roy was accused of avoiding (similar to Floyd.)

I'd say they had similar aura's there. Half of Floyd's marketability was based around that, being "unbeatable".

If the sweet science is hit and not got it... who, in their prime, better exemplifies this?
Where was Roy's "super duper fundamental skills" when he slowed down? Pathetic KO losses came back to back.

Another example is Naseem Hamed. Barrera f**ked up him by just using his left. Barrera's 50% arsenal was enough to beat him. Because, he was another athleticism merchant.

Pacquiao was both physical freak and textbook fighter. His green days were enough to f**k up prime Barrera in 2003.
