Won a vacant title by split decision against Gavril, and then beat Dirrell. Also been dropped by Gavril who he couldn't KO.but is going to KO Canelo? I'm not even a Canelo fan but Benavidez is being over hyped

At this point, I wouldn't rule out any of the top fighters dropping Cinnabon. He looked like shxt.

Some people act like Canelo Alvarez is this great Mexican warrior who fought all comers. They like to forget that for most of his career, he was Oscar De La Hoya's cash cow, and was carefully protected. Most of Canelo's big name wins were against past it fighters. Many of the others were bums.There were actually only a few fighters that he beat who stood a snowball's chance in hell to beat him: Golovkin, BJS, Lara and Jacobs.

I agree with everyone except BJS, he was protected as well., but Cinnabon still was willing to fight him for the belt and clout.

Gingerhead is right, Benavidez only notable win..Dirrell ,yet for some reason his delusional ass fans say he will beat and or stop canelo,based on what? Volume power punches?you need more than that to beat canelo imo,what about defense,footwork,experience fighting at the highest level, etc all these things bandera roja lacks but ok its called hype that I do understand,I really wish Zurdo beats bivol that way Canelo will have to fight David his mando,hope he doesnt end up being called 'another bum' afterwards like they did Bjs, smiths bros,Plant among others.

You actually don't need all of that. If you watched Saturday, none of that's needed at this point. Not saying that Benavidez doesn't have it, but he would gas Cinnabon in the first few rounds by pressure and power volume alone. It wouldn't look good for Ginger, he's slow and has a limited arsenal with a terrible gas tank.

Absurd post. If Benavidez would have had the discipline to have kept his WBC belt, Canelo would have already relieved him of it last year.

No he wouldn't, he never even entertained the fight when Benavidez had the belt. Then after he lost the belt on the scale, there's a big rush to become undisputed at 168. We know the truth!
