    People can get mad at his stance all they want but canelo ran out of gas against a 40 yr old. Imagine a bigger stronger Benavidez who has endless stamina. A stoppage win for Benavidez is not out of the question.

Is Benavidez even going to fight again this year? Does he even have an opponent lined up? Or was the Lemuiex fight his "super fight" of the year?
      oh what a shame that would be if canelo is forced to face a young fighter as he’s getting older and slowing down. Did you care this much when a young canelo fought a 40 yr old Mosley? Or a 35 year old shopworn Cotto? Or waited out ggg until he was 35. Or fought a completely shot 36 yr old Kovalev who had just fought 2 months earlier? But yeah, let’s cry a river for a 32 yr old canelo because Benavidez who canelo has already avoided wants his shot. Clown talk.

        Benavidez has not shown to be able to KO Canelo, he hasn't fought anyone near the level of Canelo, he hasn't even fought anyone on the level of a shot GGG. He's probably too busy in a coke bender to even know Canelo fought this past weekend.

          Canelo can say whatever he chooses but David Benavidez Jr for him his a high risk, low reward fight. Deep down, he knows he will need to be at his best to beat him or even have a chance. I think his ego was damaged when he lost to Bivol and he cannot take losing another fight or potentially getting knocked out. I think if Canelo is a true champion that he will fight the best at super middleweight. The same way that Lennox Lewis fought Michael Grant, David Tua, etc. Or Holyfield fighting Bowe, Moorer, etc. At some point Canelo has to take more risks.

            I like the benevidez camp but they don’t teach defense over there. They block punches with their face. David hasn’t fought anyone of note let alone beat anyone of note. Canelo would dummy him. Ask Jose Valenzuela how sr teaches defense

              Benavidez Sr is right. I've noticed some slippage and decline in Canelo also. If he were to fight David Benavidez today; Benavidez would stop him. If he was too afraid of pressing and taking risks against Golovkin for fear of getting hit;

              Then what would make him so confident that he could press and take risks against David Benavidez? Besides, Alvarez no longer has the same stamina and energy that he used to have at 168. He got tired late against GGG.

                Name me a better suited opponent for Canelo Alvarez at this juncture of his career other than David Benavidez. You can't because it doesn't exist. The truth is Benavidez is second to none at 168 and Canelo is well aware of this fact; Which is why he has been ducking him for years. I want to see that fight happen and boxing fans want to see that fight happen so what is the hold up?

                  Canelo cannot afford another loss in his career at this point. Benavidez is a high risk-low reward fight for Canelo. I bet Canelo's handlers are telling him that as well. If I were Canelo I would go back down to 160 and fight there for the rest of my career.

                    that has nothing to do with the point. But, to your point, bivol didn’t fight anyone on Canelo’s level either and he kicked his ass.

                      So you're ok with Benavidez and his long list of bums on his resume not challenging himself waiting on that Canelo payday? How do you know he's second to none? He hasn't proven himself, the only hype I've seen from him is from keyboard warriors doing the fighting for him.

                      He should've fought Plant or signed on to fight Plant, then people could've been saying, "look how much better he did vs Plant" He could've fought Charla, then people could've been saying "he fought Charlo when Canelo didn't" He could've fought more common Canelo opponents. Instead, his last fight which was 5 month ago, was against an aged opponent that GGG and Saunders already beat. How is that "second to none"?

                      Fact of the matter is, these PBC dudes want to fight once a year, collect their PBC bum opponent paycheck, cry about not getting Canelo, revolve their careers on Canelo's next move and let keyboard warriors do the fight and negotiations for them.
