These guys had a good rivalry years ago and even though their past 2 fights didn't really live up to the expectations it was still a good rivalry and they had their moments where they had many people talking about their fights and the hype around it. This fight was just terrible pretty much a money grab fight as I expected. Only good thing about tonight is that their rivalry is over and they can go their separate ways

Golovkin looked awful like didn’t even throw 10 power punches ,maybe that extra weight slowed him down , in his last fight he was way more fluid faster and very willing to let his punches fly, very disappointing fight, canelo hasn’t improved either, ate lots of jabs against a 40 yr old man who barely threw 10 power punches and got backed up serval times, I don’t see him may ever beating bivol based on this.Last edited by jabbbbb; 09-18-2022, 12:07 AM.

You know what, he’s got a point, even if he is an edge lord (which I’m guessing from your reply).
Canelo was superior by every discernible marker, and it’s been evident since Devryechenko that Golovkin’s reflexes have fallen off a cliff. Honestly, he looked like Ali vs Holmes in the first 5 rounds of the Múrata fight, and nearly the whole of this one.
With this in mind, Canelo should be wiping him out, and I’m guessing the reason this didn’t happen is because of one of his few Achilles heels: namely, stamina.
Man’s gotta sort his conditioning out and get running

Judges are watching the fight, not listening to DAZN's fan boys who didn't even comment on head butt that cut Canelo because they were spinning their own narrative of fight. 8-4 was a reasonable card if you watched fight. Not much went down in first 3 rounds and G easily could have won 9-12; that is why 2 judges had it 7-5. I thought 8-4 was about right, 116-112.

Anyway 2 legends and I'm glad that this trilogy is finally over though I would've preferred to see that fight in 2019.
