Why does Arum always sound so negative about the Joshua fight it's really bizarre...

It could be a good fight, but there is nothing from AJ that says this would be a good fight. 1) AJ is not close to the same power as Wilder 2) AJ is a better boxer than Wilder, but still not a great boxer 3) AJ has not beaten anyone of significance in 3 years 4) AJ looks scared to get hit - I believe the knockout to Ruiz has him too defensive, which we saw vs Usyk. Usyk doesn't have the power to knockout these big heavyweights, but AJ gave him too much credit and then basically got outboxed. Imagine what Fury would do to him! Big man that can box and has power to knock him out. If this does happen in 2022 - I don't believe it will be a good fight and AJ will be looking at the stadium roof early.Comment

Who's he gonna fight that prepares him for Fury except Fury?
So Arum would rather AJ spends the next year or two building confidence in meaningless bouts fighting scrubs in which time Fury really does retire. Pointless. Fight now, while it can be done, the money is there and it still means something.
If he takes some confidence builders everyone would only say he was ducking anyway.

However I will not be surprised if Joshua wins.
Not sold on Fury being all that good.Comment

Fury looked like pig s--t in the last garbage fight with Whyte. He looked slow and sloppy.
He's a cokehead with mental health issues. You don't know which Fury will show up.
Of course AJ(who Im not a fan of at all)has a chance. Old man Bob talking his old man s--t like he always does.Comment

Rubbish. Joshua went into the first Ruiz/Usyk fights full of confidence off a win. He did far better in both the returns coming off a loss.

You don't have to be a genius to see through Arum's B.S. For whatever reason, he is resistant to the fight, but it's certainly not out of concern for Joshua. If he thinks Fury wins easily, he should be eager as hell to make a fight that is guaranteed to generate a lot of money for everyone involved.Comment
