Ortiz is lucky Ruiz Jr didn't try to finish him after dropping him twice in a row

ruiz tested Ortiz power abd became a little bit cautious. Watch the twelve round again, he went all out and put a beating. Too late yo win the fight, but he closed strong

Was nowhere near a war!! Wtf is Ortiz on?

Snooze fest aside from the knockdowns and a few, very short and isolated moments of exchanges.

Ortiz boxed well enough to keep Ruiz at bay, but the knockdowns were the difference here.

Let down of a main event.

Ruiz only threw 287 punches the whole fight. And Ortiz only 428. Even by heavyweight standards, that’s pretty bad. Not a lot of action at all.

Worst bout on the card. Far from a war.

I always hold this view ultimately considering a fighter who is in his/her twilight... With that said knowing human nature I can virtually see ortiz sitting at home, wanting to fight, and i know how i would feel in his place.

I think boxing needs good gatekeepers. People often act like gatekeeper is a bad thing. Ortiz could possibly be a gatekeeper for a few more fights.

Andy showed some smarts. Instead of needing the approbation of the adoring public, he won the fight with less damage to himself, less risk and using his smarts to avoid the big left.

Luis probably has one fight left if he doesn't feel ready to retire.
Maybe two more if he survives his next fight. He'll be 44 next year.
Of course he would want retirement money at this stage, but against who?

There's Wallin, Chisora, Dubois, who else?

How about PBC fighters like Breazeale, Martin 2, Arreola, Kownacki...

His team needs to act fast to accommodate 2 fights next year.

You can hit Ortiz flush in the face and he does not flinch. Hit him to the SIDE of the head and it seems like a light switch has been turned off and he collapses to the canvas.
Not sure if that is caused by his age or not but it seems pretty weird.
If i was going up against him, hitting him on the side of the head would be my focus.
I still enjoy and admire his skills even if I believe he should be thinking about hanging up them gloves.

Ortiz is still buzzed from those knockdowns. It was a fight of strategy. Ruiz wanted to counter and so did Ortiz. Ortiz had the jab but Ruiz had the power shots. It must have seemed like a war for Ortiz taking those shots.
