If wilder had of stuck to throwing straight shots to head and body, he would of had a much greater chance of winning that fight, but when he has a guy hurt wilder seems to lack composure.

If he comes back and destroys Helenius and his confidence is also back, I’ll have to back him in a fight with pretty much any heavyweight out there not named Fury or Usyk.
    SPOT ON!

Depending how well his comeback fight goes, a fight with AJ would be intriguing.

I imagine Haymon will put Sanchez in against someone who is PBC affiliated or from a smaller promotion.

If they were really ballsy, they'd put Frank in against someone like Wallin (who has fought on PBC before as well).
That would be awesome, but that card is already loaded, so I think it's a keep busy fight! Sanchez is WBC #4, and WBO #4! They have to get him something soon! I would love to see him fight DuBois or Jared Anderson!

Kinda doubt it happens next. I think Haymon will look for opportunities for both guys rather than match them. Maybe fight down the line.

And the fact he’s never in boring fights. He can be getting schooled pretty much all night and take them out. So I do agree with you , just wanted to add a caveat.

Good post. People seem to think that Wilder was the only one hurt in that trilogy. Fight 1 Fury took all the damage and Wilder took none. Fight 2 the roles were reversed. Fight 3 they both took heavy damage but Wilder took a little more than Fury. I think he has his confidence back but I definitely wouldn't overlook the Nordic nightmare. And I definitely would advise against anymore fights with Fury. That book is closed and he should just tip his cap and acknowledge Fury is the better fighter. But Usyk I think is tailor made for Wilder and Fury. They wouldn't respect the cruiserweight at all and unlike AJ they would fight him like true HWs and just run all over him.

Dominant wins over Helenius and Ruiz would reaffirm Wilder as era #3. Ruiz win over Wilder would make him #3.

It’s about time. Both these guys need other names on their resume. AJ is the best boxer Ruiz has ever faced and we don’t need a third fight between those two. Ortiz and Fury are the biggest highlights of his career and his both of them multiple times already.
No, we need a new matchup and we need the HW division to keep moving forward, if that makes any sense.

Maybe. I have a feeling Haymon is aware Ruiz is vulnerable so they will cash him out sooner than later and better to cash him out against a fellow fighter from their promotion to maximize his value. If they put Ruiz in against someone else and he loses, they've essentially lost out on that investment.

Same with Ortiz. He was matched up against Martin to give one of them a springboard back into relevancy. While Ortiz prevailed, he looked very vulnerable so they cashed him out versus Ruiz.

Wilder took “a little more damage” in the third fight..LOL on what planet does anyone find this to be true? Wilder scored 2 knockdowns yes, but these were flash knockdowns where Fury remained clear-eyed and focused on the ref the whole time, only staying down to give himself a breather. Wilder on the other hand suffered the kind of career shortening beat-down that very nearly retired him. He ended up face down on the canvas with his eyes swollen shut..come on man.

And Usyk isn’t tailor-made for ANY heavyweight..even Fury would have a tough time with him. Seriously, what makes you day that? Look at how Wilder’s fights were going against a vastly slower, older and less-skilled southpaw in Ortiz. For someone who has been outboxed in spots by even C-level fighters, Wilder would get absolutely embarrassed by Usyk. The chasm in boxing ability literally can’t be put into words.
