Some good fights from this year that went the distance or ended late.

    Onama/Landwehr
    Glover/Jiri
    Khamzat/Burns
    Rockhold/Costa
    Figuereido/Moreno 3
    Petrosyan/Rodrigues
    Burgos/Jourdain
    Cruz/Vera
    Font/Vera
    Kattar/Giga
    Tsarukyan/Gamrot
    Ismagulov/Kutateladze
    RDA/Moicano
    Brown/Barbarena
    Shore/Valiev

if someone isnt an MMA fan after watching those, they never will be.

Really probably because I understand a boxing much more from a technical aspect and it has a rich history.

I don’t mind watching UFC events, it can be entertaining, but when it goes to the ground, it’s not something I’m overly knowledgeable about, but I can see how it would be exciting if you’re into jujitsu or something and understand how exactly they are defending and positioning themselves

Boxing could learn more from MMA, especially the likes of UFC where there seems to be less problems making fights people want to see. But boxing is a fragmented sport consisting of many companies whereas UFC is one company, so that obviously makes things a lot easier.

But I got into boxing and started boxing when I was a very young kid, That’s probably when UFC were just getting off the ground and nowhere near as popular as it is now. Maybe if I was a kid now, I might gravitate towards MMA instead of boxing, who knows.

        More history with boxing.
Hang on a boxing site most of the times

Maybe if I was hanging on a UFC fight, I was be in tuned with it.
I have found some UFC fights entertaining.

Let me know when Sterling, Jamaican, fights and I will tune in.

          I don't like real wrestling.

I'd rather watch WWE than real wrestling.

That shxt is boring as fxck if nobody's jumping off the top ropes

          Plus, I hate MMA fans.

All the Affliction shirt wearing bros are just the worst.

MMA's like Crossfit or the Vegans, there's a lot of cultish behavior

So, if what I saw is not what most mma fights are like then enlighten me, how is your average mma fight different from what I’ve described?
You prefer long drawn out sparring sessions like the Ruiz Ortiz fight where people were booing? People did not enjoy watching tyson destroy his opponents in a few rounds? I guess thats why he was such a huge ppv star...

Literally did not say that. Are you just being deliberately obtuse at this point?
I’ve had to explain twice that I’m referring to MMA fights that end within the first few seconds without the other guy putting anything resembling proper resistance. Anyone who’s moderately literate can also tell that I’m talking about boxing matches that are edge of your seat or at least action packed enough to be entertaining. Like Inoue-Donaire 1 and Moore-Durelle 1. Holyfield vs Foreman is one I mentioned earlier. Watched it and had a good time after seeing a few disappointing MMA matches. I’d also sooner rewatch Tyson’s fights with Ruddock or Holyfield than the ones that only last long enough to fit into a KO compilation.
Before you ask me for more justifications, I just want to make sure that you do realize none of my answers will be satisfying in the end, right? Nothing is going to overcome a difference in preferences.

For me fights like Fury vs Usyk, Spence vs Crawford, Bivol vs Beterbiev and Inoue vs Fulton are far superior than anything ufc has. Just my opinion. Anyway this is a Boxing forum. Why is this thread still up moderators???
