For those that still prefer boxing over UFC, why?

UFC is full of jerks who try everything but ain't expert in anything. Especially strikings are funny asf. Even Conor's stance went from kickboxing to boomer level boxing. And, those are examples from "elites" let alone bums.

Boxing is based on "fists". More primitive sport but has smarter fighters..

I will agree that the striking is atrocious.

I find MMA in general boring. Some fights are entertaining, but nothing to the point I'd want to follow the sport closely. And yes, the wrestling is boring for me to watch, so when someone's only chance to win a fight is to turn the fight into a wrestling match

Most fights end up on the ground. Super boring. I switch the channel then. Go back to see if they are back on their feet.

I grew up Boxing, and trained in the arts of it in my teens. I'm loyal to the sport and would prefer it over UFC/MMA.

Although, UFC/MMA is a growing sport I watch some big names like Israel Adesanya etc... but I prefer the sweet science.

It's pretty simple. Boxing has a storied history. Many of us grew up watching boxing. It's been a part of our lives since we were babies. Can't say the same about the UFC. Also, while I boxed I never wrestled. I've noticed that a lot of my friends who are into MMA and the UFC wrestled in high school. It's almost like a given that there's some wrestling background or martial art background. More so with wrestling because I've met a couple judo practitioners who don't care for the UFC. Not sure why that is, actually.

BTW: Wrestling is taught in high schools across the country, and I think that's one of the big reasons why MMA and the UFC have had such a quick rise in popularity. When you know and understand a sport really well, it makes it easy to get into.

Israel is great. He can box a little too.

He will officially have conquered UFC if he knocks out Anderson Silvia and Conor McGregor. All hell will break loose then.

Definitely. I think he will do it as well. Then I'd like to see him move over to WWE and try his hand at Stone Cold Steve Austin, who looked as good as ever in his last bout, and I believe a fight with Jake "the Great" Paul, could tempt the Texas Rattlesnake back for one more fight. Nash out.

I love boxing more because i practice and compete in it.

On tv though, UFC is a much better product than boxing.

Only aspects i hate in mma are sloppy strikers and wrestlers who hold opponent against cage and call it a day(or lay and pray too) but i love agressive grappling/slams/submissions.

                      Gane vs Tai was amazing.
