Benn might fare very well because Eubank Jr. is not GGG, and the fight is not at 160. However, the question is how Benn will look when he (if he) comes back to 147? If he stays at 154, MatchRoom still has the same problems! They can't get him fights, and they have very few fighters to match him with! I think had they accepted to fight Avanesyan, and Benn became EBU Welterweight Champion, he would've been able to secure a title eliminator by one of the ABCs. This fight will put money in his pockets, but does nothing to help him get closer to a title shot at 147, nor 154!

Novelty fights just may become his thing. You’re exactly right, even if he wins and campaigns at welter or light middle he is still signed with a promotional company that has no champions at either weight not any championship class or immediate contender level fighters who move the needle. Benn isn’t leaving matchroom, isn’t leaving the U.K., so unless he becomes mandatory, we are just never going to see him against the best at either weight

On paper it's a mismatch , we don't know how good Benn is as he's fought nobody. He is a natural welter and will be facing a much naturally bigger fighter in Eubank Jr. who has looked pretty solid up at super middleweight , if not a world beater. This is a money grab ....period. Jr . is the bookies favourite and is expected to win , he doesn't want the stiff fights at his own weight and doesn't want to test himself .so win or lose he walks away with a packet at the expense of the blind. Benn can say he was only a welterweight and ... avoid all welterweights! I'll watch it but there's much more worthy fights for the PPV slot other than this Hearn gimmick----stream---!

I felt that a victory over Avanesyan would make him a mandatory to someone @ 147! What's so crazy is that Benn and Vergil Ortiz Jr. both fight on DAZN, and that match up is never even mentioned!

I think the outcome will be the same.

If this does huge numbers in the UK, which it will, it makes Hearn's job much easier to get fights for Benn moving forward. It's a basic risk/reward strategy.

Eubank needs to retire to club level UK pub status if he losses to this fool! LOL

Not sure how much size will matter in this fight, but, from my view, Benn does look more than a match for Eubank in terms of skill.

So what Hearn is essentially admitting to here is selling Kell Brook down river knowing full well he had no chance and all but ended Brooks career.

Even though Kell along with Froch were his major names starting out what a disgrace this man is, Kell was probably under some illusion he was doing a "friend" a favour.

As for the actual fight it's self who actually cares about it? Eubank is B- tier and Benn refuses to fight any of his contemporaries, so instead takes a win win fight.
