Which 168-175 lbs fighter could give Prime Roy Jones problems?

Beterbiev is such a wildcard. Browne threw a lot of wild blind haymakers you see from a prime Jones but Beterbiev's guard was on point. And he is probably the most athletic guy Beterbiev has seen. What would the fight look like in the final 3rd if Jones didn't get him out of there?

People tend to forget prime time Jones because it's pretty common to remember that last images of a fighter. Prime Jones was just so fast in everything he did and if lesser fighters could put Beterbiev on the canvas, I can see Jones heavily disrupting him.

I always wanted to see him versus Michael Nunn. I think Roy wins but Nunn bring a tall southpaw with speed and decent power while being unorthodox would've been a puzzle to solve.

With full random Olympic style drug testing and strong penalties for cheating, Roy Jones would get beat by lots of fighters prime vs prime. He was a performance enhancing drugs cheater in his prime. He popped dirty against Richard Hall and it got swept under the rug. After the testing and penalties for popping was better, Roy was knocked out by journeyman. The guy is vastly overrated for beating mostly bums while using performance enhancing drugs. And before people say he was old when journeyman were stopping him, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was still P4P king in a harder division than Roy was in at that age. Pacquiao was also still a top p4p fighter at the age Roy was getting beat by bums.

At 168, Canelo maybe has a slim chance. Pressure counter puncher with slick defense. Calzaghe's high work rate and high output would be problem for any Roy. Ward's dirty style is also problematic for him. Jones beats others with ease at 168.
At 175, Beterbiev could KO him badly. Jones' two pathetic losses against Tarver and Johnson were at 175. Beterbiev is better puncher than both. Kovalev, Bivol and Gvozdyk could have some success. But, they are too robotic for Roy.
montiel was down on the cards at the time of the dq. So I dont know if that's exposing someone
Canelo had problems with tiny Floyd. And just got dominated by bivol. What you think a 28 year old Roy would do to him
Tarver, Johnson, and calzaghe all beat a post heavyweight Roy that was 36 and over. That's not the real Roy Jonesoscar9992 likes this.
