I saw the terrible early stoppage by the ref on the undercard..... then could only watch the boring main event for 9 rounds before falling asleep...

makes me think, if the figures are enough for showtime to continue in the boxing business, why wasn’t enough for HBO… maybe they were paying out larger sums of $ to host the fights? I really miss Kellerman and the gang. Can’t wait for Mares to resume his boxing career. Hopefully that means they’re pulling him from the broadcasting team lol.
I think canelo was breaking the shrinking allocated funds for sports plus hbo headed on a different direction with HBO max. Boxing numbers were way down on hbo and both golden boy and top rank alike were really hastening their own demise on that station

Is that good for non PPV on Showtime. Seems low.

Oh by the way, P&J fella, you have me either confused with someone else or you confused my sentiment. I have no problem with apps, I simply don’t have and won’t get dazn. I think
you are either mistakenly or purposefully getting that wrong. Having Hulu, Netflix, hbo max, Disney, YouTube tv, Amazon prime and others is not an issue. Are you offended by that?

Sh/t matchups get sh/t numbers. Unless the sh/t matchup at least involves two household names, which is something Jose Benavidez is not.

So cater to us with better fights and cards. Might not get casuals but at least were happy.
SHO is trying: Jermell/Castano 2, Vargas/Magsayo, and Fulton/Roman were respectable match-ups. Benavidez/Lemiuex and Garcia/Benavidez...they can keep those. If Thurman/Barrios was on PPV, then it's almost a guarantee that Garcia/Thurman 2 will be.

SHO really needs to get Ennis a big fight or keep him very active if they can't.

If Canelo can sell 550,000 PPV’s, that’s 550k paying viewers, for fighting an unknown Dmitry Bivol (in the US market)…no, boxing isn’t dead.

Viewership is down when there’s a sh/t fight. It’s always been the case.

Wilder-Fury III PPV’s sold like Jordans.

Canelo vs GGG III will sell like a World Series game.

Usyk vs AJ II Sky Sports PPV isn’t very expensive but the buy numbers in the UK will show how much people are intrigued by the fight.

Nothing is actually wrong with viewership in boxing in general. Just show good fights and the fans will watch.

Most people still have cable or satellites. The app e we pile be another 100m tops. You always are repeating this when low showtime viewership numbers are released.
