Meatloaf once said 2 outta 3 ain't bad. That's how I felt with this card. I enjoyed the Russell
/Rances fight until the sudden ending, the HW affair was a good scrap but the main event was a stinker. Benavidez slapped his gloves and stuck his tongue out, Garcia hit him when he wanted.
Garcia needs either an aggressive opponent or a hopelessly outmatched opponent to look good and Benavidez was neither.

Tonight, Benevidez fought almost exactly how he fought his last fight against that small, unknown, featherfisted middleweight. Just plodding forward with a high guard and very low punch output. No attempt at making adjustments or increasing the pressure on Garcia. Lots of posing and mean faces, sticking his tongue out though. From the sounds of his post fight interview he sounded proud that Garcia couldn’t hurt him….If that’s the kind of moral victory that he’s satisfied with, then he should quit boxing. He hasn’t made any adjustments since his last fight in which he was gifted a draw. I don’t know how much credit I should give Garcia for this win…Looked like Benevidez has lots of big holes in his current boxing strategies and in his heart. At least he could have pressed the action at a higher pace. Both guys were static the whole night…No changes, no different levels up…no dynamics. Made for a frustrating and less entertaining fight. Most of the blame should be placed on Jose, though.

He really fooled me , thought his speed would make up for the power but nooooooo
So yeah , he gonna have to be carefully matched or he’ll go bonkers again, no pun intended
I did though enjoy his boxing capabilities although it was against Benevidez who really moves like a dinosaur in the ringEl_Mero likes this.

Fighters like Thurman,Garcia, Santa Cruz, Harrison and the rest of these older seasoned protected PBC fighters need to get sacrifice. Stop putting these guys as the main event on showtime and Fox already, waste of time watching this 12 round stinkers.
Only reason they should be the main event is if their in a fight that is a toss up.PRchamp likes this.
