Tbh I pity the man, whilst us Brits and Americans have a rich boxing culture to look back on, 1hour only has bums like Lucas Browne.

I guess that's why he likes watching midgets and women so much.

Very true. Same crap here. Even more. And maybe a couple of hundreds on a working woman, if they can afford it.

Who is Lucas Browne and where is he from? If it's that bold, white heavyweight, I actually like him too. Tough guy.

Yeah, the hardcore here are hardcore alright. I'll watch the fight, the post fight interviews/analyses, then head to bed, which can be as late as 6, wake up at 12/1, then get back one normal schedule for the rest of the week. The massive time differences does stop boxing being an even bigger commercial sport. If main even was like midnight, they would be a much bigger UK audience for the USA fights, but the time difference between countries is just too big for that.

Any event of note, the Great Nash has to watch live. If it's a small event, happy to watch the highlights/check result the next day, but that's only for lesser fights. Nash out.

PPV just hasnt been normalised as much there as it is in the US. Especially at US price points. Its the same with most countries.

TBH yeah, the UK as a rich and powerful economy but the GDP per capita is surprisingly low. Lower than Ireland too I think. Wages here are very poor.

£26.95 sounds reasonable and in line with inflation.

I think we are tighter with our money tbh. You guys tip somebody for bringing you a coffee, whereas if we start choking to death during a meal and the waiter saves our life, still pretty unlikely they get an extra penny.

The AJ fight appeals to casuals so I understand the price even though I disagree with it. But for the Canelo fight, no UK casuals will care, no drunk football fans, the only people staying up until 6am to watch that are people like us who use boxing forums and streaming sites often enough that we're not gonna pay extra. 99% of UK fans only care about UK fighters. Tyson, Floyd, Pac were an exception but Canelo is not that level. Putting this on PPV is another sign DAZN don't know what they're doing.

I don't think they are poor, but after the price is raised once it will surely continue to raise until they are paying some 50 or 60 British pounds for a fight they used to watch for 10. They know where this is headed.
This one right here.. Same with shows, few years ago they were much cheaper. Now the prices are same like you have a VIP table (small local shows not huge fights)

I mean obviously people in the US make more money due to many factors, including cost of living. The pricing stateside has always just been so much higher compared to the UK so while paying $30 bucks or so for a PPV here would be seen as a GREAT deal, it's not seen the same way over there. Any price increase will get more of a reaction in the UK.

This was from 2021 so the numbers could be a bit off but the average salary for doctor's in the UK was $138,000 while the average doctor stateside was making $318,000. Then you look at other fields like RN's and it is even worse.

The point is that yes, folks in the UK make less money so you have to price accordingly. Would you say they are poor? No, because the cost of living is also cheaper in a lot of ways. Should there be much complaining about upping the price of Usyk/AJ by a few bucks? Probably not but I can see why they are a bit ticked at paying for the Canelo/GGG III fight when it will be coming on at 5 am.

It doesn’t make sense to have it PPV in all regions whatsoever. DAZN would likely attract far more subs by showing this fight as part of the subscription package and then that gives you a chance to retain those subs. By putting it behind a pay wall you’re massively limiting that opportunity. DAZN’s goal is to attract a consistent subscribers, not one and done buyers.
