Unless you are Floyd mayweather or to a lesser extent canelo, and can draw in the billionaires and private jet mob to Vegas, you can make more money in stadium fights in the UK as a name fighter now.

The only reason to care about America is if you are nostalgic for the 70s-90s era and want to relive that

    That's all it is, nostalgia.

That's exactly what he and others are looking for! That's why Fury did it!

We Brits grow up and every day are inundated with American culture through tele, music, movies etc etc and the same doesn’t happen. Here in the usa with British arts and culture. There is definitely a tendency to compare Britain to the USA within Britain especially for the working class and lower who will never to travel to the usa. Spain is generally their option of travel and even then not much immersion in Spanish culture. And in terms of sports there is definitely a one sided “rivalry” with British fans, especially when it comes to boxing since American sports are overwhelmingly internal.
I can tell the influence is real! Salute to Idris Elba (The Wire), and Damson Idris (Snowfall)! I thought those Brothers were born and raised here! My wife is Puerto Rican, and can't stop watching British movies, and TV series! She even had me watching "The Bridgertons!" Lol!

I haven't been to London, or Dublin, but I would love to! Definitely interested in Moorish culture, and would love to see Spain! However, when the Caribbean is in your backyard, why go overseas? Much rather learn about British history in Jamaica and Barbados, or Spanish history in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic! The scenery (wink, wink) is so much better, and much more affordable!

I respect any fighter that gets in the ring and takes on the risk of putting his/her long term health in the line. With that being said, I can't give AJ props because he basically quit vs Ruiz, was on his way to getting stopped vs Usyk who is a CW. Fact is, AJ's chin is suspect and does not fight with the aggression needed to be considered a top tier HW.

Beginning to think it's possible AJ threw the first fight like he did to Ruiz and will win the rematch comprehensively to set up the Fury $superfight.

For a start he's only relevant through rematchroom paperwork. He's ducked or blocked undesputed 3 times! With that paperwork, right now we should all be looking forward to Fury Usyk undesputed instead we've had to wait for an immediate rematch that was pencilled in for Feb that has taken 11 months, they had 6 months pre war.
Right on! We we would have had the undisputed fight between AJ and Fury last year if Fury didn't have to fight multiple rematches with Wilder!

Fuck rematchroo ..... oh, wait ...

He didn't need to lose to Usyk to set up a superfight with Fury. All he needed to do was beat Usyk first time around.

He didn’t throw the 1st ruiz fight. I was in New York and saw it live. AJ was in miami on the beach for months before the fight.he took him lightly and he would’ve lost the rematch too if ruiz hadn’t shown up grotesquely overweight. AJ is a fraud. Even if he beats usyk I fail to understand how that makes him a top HW? Usyk is the single most overated fighter in boxing today. He had a gift decision vs Bredis who got beaten more clearly by jai opetia who fought with a broken jaw from round 2 on. Gift decision vs chisora who is game but is a journeyman. his best win is Bredis and that hasn’t aged well. AJ beating this guy might prove he’s as good as bredis. Who cares? Lol

AJ has limited opposition to make money. The Ruiz rematch was huge money and the Usyk rematch will also be bigger than the first fight. Plus Matchroom now has another star to sell in Usyk.
