Robert Garcia quote. No more excuses for Joshua.

"You know what? I think he wasn’t thinking and prepared to win the fight. From what he told me, he was just thinking of going all 12 rounds. He never thought, ‘I got to win the fight. I just need to go 12 rounds.’ So that makes a big difference" Quote from Robert Garcia.

What the hay is Joshua talking about? Did he know there was no chance to win the fight and he just wanted to go 12 rounds without a KO? I think right. Or did he think the scorecards would be in his favor if it was close and he just needed to avoid a knockout? I think maybe right. Either way is is a loser mentality.

Just like last year six weeks before the Usyk fight Joshua stated that he "granted Ruiz the title" and did him a favor. WTF, Ruiz got up off the canvas and took over the fight after taking his best shots. Joshua's confidence is down more than ever and he hired Garcia because McCracken told Joshua that he fought well and could not do better in a rematch. Same old, same old.

Odds are that Ruiz knocked some of Joshua's marbles loose in the first fight. I think Usyk did too. What the hay was Joshua doing at the start of Round 4. He looks up and raises his hand to the roof like it was a probing jab to the sky. Usyk jumped right on him and knocked him across the ring. Joshua was hurt no doubt at the end of Round 3. At the end of the fight he wanted to stay on the stool. He would not have come out if there was a Round 13. Joshua needs to retire if he gets beaten up again. I want to see Wilder vs. Joshua more than ever but it likely will end badly for Joshua.

Very dramatic. Joshua lost a fight mate, a 12 round fight which he was competitive in.

And people also need to stop mentioning Ruiz Junior. Joshua beat him in the rematch, and since then? Ruiz Junior has slipped from elite level.

I just see a lot of apprehension surrounding Joshua. People are completely terrified that he can win this fight.

All of these calls for him to retire, and bringing up past fights. Are all coping mechanisms, that people are using to convince themselves? That is a zero threat in this fight.

Joshua is coming, and he is going to give it a good go. I personally think he will win the rematch with Usyk.

Make no doubt about it, due to Joshua's inability to fight a good big man styled fight. This fight vs Usyk is being made a lot more difficult for him.

Any other past great super heavyweight would know exactly how to fight Usyk. There would be no debate.

If Joshua beats Usyk, it will still be the greatest Heavyweight win of the past 20 years.

I think that's what it sounds like. Get to 12, get a win. It didn't happen, but it appears he's aware of being favored by officials in some capacity.

The truth is, when it comes to Anthony Joshua, a nation is living in fear, of destiny.

I agree with everything stated here.

Here's my honest opinion on Joshua, good fighter, good skills, but had too much success too early in his career, it went to his head and he stopped improving.

He thought he could be the next klitschko, but he doesn't have an endless stream of Alex Leapais, Jean Marc Mormecks, Toe Haye and Eddie Chambers to fight for 10 years, he has Fury, Wilder and Usyk.

I think he's quite soft now, he loses fights and his attitude is like "oh well that's just boxing", he doesn't seem to care much.

What I hear from him now, and Robert Garcia isn't encouraging, it's very wishy washy, there's no substance to any of the words.

I don't think Joshua is coming with the mentality that his career is on the line, I think he's coming to try a couple of new little things, and if they don't work "oh well, I tried, that's just boxing, on to the next"

            Thank you, well said.

Joshua's mentality is like a good amateur fighter who has 100 fights and they expect to lost at least a handful. Lose a few and learn from it. This is the pros and every fight should be to win, not a learning experience.

Joshua does have good skills, but so does Usyk. Usyk is a smaller heavyweight but he is more mobile and a better boxer. And Joshua has shown that he can be hurt. At the end of Round 3 he was in trouble. I don't know if he was hurt again in the fight but at the end of 12 he was in bad shape, maybe more from fatigue. He won't be able to get that out of his mind. Will he give Usyk respect if he gets tagged again or will he risk going out on his shield?

The greatest heavyweight win in the last 20 years was Joshua Ruiz 1. There is nothing great about beating a heavyweight that just moved up to the division from cruiserweight. Usyk has only proven he can be Joshua, not other top heavyweights.

It is a fair point. And Chisora was a close call.
