Why on earth would he be looking past Ortiz? Ortiz has seemed up until his last fight better than Arreola and Andy was in big trouble with Nips. If Arreola can put him down then Ortiz can too. This talk plus separating from another trainer seems like he still cannot find motivation and discipline. If Andy was in shape and focused I would expect him to destroy Luis "The Real Grandpa" Ortiz but doesn't seem like he is mentally there. He must have some money left still or something. Years are passing and he is wasting his talent.

Unless he blew thru 18 million then I would assume he has money.

Ruiz has to be the favourite but Ortiz can still crack & has boxing skills. This is also Ortiz’s last chance to get in position for another title shot or at least a big pay day. His punch resistance looks gone but still a dangerous fighter. It seems like Ruiz thinks he is more entitled without having to put in the work. He scored a big upset & got paid handsomely but has only a hard fought win over Arreola since.
