Garcia, in my opinion, is a long way from being in his prime. He’s still very young but I think stylistically he’s a good match for Tank. I doubt Tank will volunteer to fight him. He will want to bring him down to 135. Garcia is a big kid. He’s will be a 154 pounder one day. He also should be fighting 3 times a year.
Ryan Garcia will TORTURE Stank Davis

I think it could be a boring tentative fight If it happens. Both are very sharp and can take you out if caught flush, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are both tentative and pretty much cancel each other out. Although that actually might suit Garcia because range will be an advantage of the fight Is like that , So you would think that Tank might have to take more of a risk at some point.
There’s no way it’s a forgone conclusion for either though. I think Garcia has a few more obvious flaws than Tank, and maybe I’d edge towards Tank those reasons. But if anyone thinks Garcia hasn’t got a reasonable chance to clean him out then they don’t know what they’re looking at. He’s as sharp and dangerous as they come with some of his shots.

The objective measure is he has fought 1 top 5 ranked fighter in their weight class his entire career in 27 fights. Eye test is easy to pass fighting lesser fighters. How long is he going to live off the eye test? Tank is the A side. All these guys want to fight him. Why can't he tell his handlers, make me this fight?
None of these guys are fighting each other and we can only go off of how they performed in front of opponents that they fought thus far.
The reality is that Ryan is at the bottom of the list. He’s hasn’t even fought for a title yet. At least we can say everyone else has. So we are just letting him pass with the eye test and not keeping that playing field leveled with Tank. When indeed at 23 Tank had already accomplished more as a top fighter.

Who Gamboa? No one thought he lost that fight. Maybe a subpar performance but it was a washout and more entertaining than Haney x Gamboa.
Cruz? He beat him convincingly with one hand for half the fight. Because it was closer than his usually fights and you saw him on the backfoot boxing and moving…suddenly he’s not as good? If anything he displayed his footwork and slickness. Made adjustments with one hand and edged the victory. Cruz gives anyone a rough night. It’s just his style and ferocity. Watch how Rolly and Cruz goes.Comment

Ryan has the abilities to be great but he will never be a Delahoya, Mosley, Trinidad, Canelo, Pacquiao or Mayweather. Why? “COMMITMENT”.
His mind is occupied by too many things outside of boxing. He also doesn’t have the hunger to eat and sleep boxing. He’s not 100% in. He’s more like 70% in.Comment

I'm not going to overreact to Garcia stopping an out of shape and shopworn Fortuna.
That being said, Garcia is much bigger than Tank and at 140 it may be a rough ask for Gervonta. Garcia is getting better and filling into his body. He still gets hit and Tank hits hard.
Anyway, I just heard Michael Montero claim that Fortuna had less pop because of the weight. It's mind blowing that someone who's actually fought (boxed) and has been in this business for awhile would say something as inane as that.
The point I'm making is that Garcia deserves credit for what he accomplished, without detracting from it by attacking Fortuna.Comment

The Ryan Garcia we saw tonight =---> obliterates Stank with a shutout, probably stoppage. Rolly had him running for his life and Rolly kinda sucks. Ryan was extremely sharp, defense looks really good. Jab =---> impeccable. Maybe best jab in the game, best body punching in the game. Can't wait to see what Stank has to say.

Tank knows that Garcias only chance is landing the left hook. Garcia can’t box and he has no right hand. He has a good left hook and good hand speed. He doesn’t commit to the jab enough. Tank can hit with either hand. Tank will walk him down.Comment

People are making a big deal about Fortuna being overweight, meaning rehydrating to 157 pounds. I've heard people say that Fortuna had less pop at that weight. I don't understand these arguments. People don't understand fighting for some reason. Fortuna weighing more means that (1) he's able to absorb punches better and (2) he's able to hit harder. It's simple physics. The only possible side-effect of weighing that much is that it could mean he gets tired quicker. And in fighting, at this level, it's the fighter who fatigues before the other is the one that usually loses. Fatigue is the biggest game changer in a fight, at this level. So that could have been Fortuna's downfall. But Fortuna was hitting harder and able to take those punches better with that excess weight, and I imagine that's why he went in the ring weighing that much.

Added weight can benefit you in mass but it can also hurt you in explosiveness, especially if it's a weight your not used to operating at. It also matters how that mass was added.
Fortuna's weight is a red flag to me because it's indicative of poor preparation. In the broadcast, Mannix mentioned that the bout was at 140 because Fortuna couldn't make lightweight. I don't recall him ever fighting that heavy before and he rehydrated to 157. Fortuna didn't look good to me, either in appearance or his performance.
Garcia did look good but I don't think he had the best version of Fortuna in front of him either.
