That's it Floyd. Keep smearing **** on your legacy. He should have stayed retired. Nothing but a punk on a bike.

Wasn't that kind of the situation with Oscar? Please correct me, but DLH picked weight, gloves, ring size, etc,,, and Oscar had a substantial size advantage.

Yeah u right playa...but what does Oscar have to do with Mayweather fighting Marquez who recently had only two fights in the lightweight division?

Can you give me your educated guess on why mayweather chose to fight marquez instead of a top welterweight opponent?

            My guess:

Mayweather relies on timing/speed/accuracy/stamina. Those are the attributes that erode the most during a layoff. Not power or chin.

So, Floyd wanted a tuneup-ish fight, but didn't want to call it a tuneup. So, instead of fighting Collazo or Hlatschwayo or Quintana, he takes a smaller guy. Boxing history is littered with examples of champions returning from a loss or layoff by taking a smaller guy. Oscar took Forbes and hatton took Lazcano. After his loss, Shane took Estrada. A journeyman.

But, anyway, I heard Marquez say "quiero pelear con mayweather a cientos cuarenta o un poquito mas". Well, here ya go. Marquez has great name recognition, and could pull in the Mex crowd. A Collazo fight would not be NEARLY as big as this.

I'm entertained by the venom towards PBF on this board. i guess i just don't get it.

This is a good fight. A fair fight. I'm excited.

How many fights did Pac have at lightweight before he came to WW to fight Oscar?

Im not sure why you keep bringing up Oscar, the fight he had Pacquiao was something that should have not happened either, and oscar got what he deserved. Mayweather is not draining himself to fight marquez, as we saw in the weigh in he is pretty much taking it like a normal welterweight fight.

Well from what your saying its a tune up fight, so that means he doesnt need to fight anyone with any kind of pull, he just really needs to fight a 'ok' opponent to knock off that 'rust'. Whats bothering a lot of people is that he is coming back and taking on Marquez (who he has not business fighting, like DLH fighting Manny) and he is making it seem like he is actually accomplishing something big.

I am going to have to disagree with you about being fair.

If Floyd fought a bum as a comeback they would say Floyd is fighting a bum and call him on it. He fights the p4p #2 who is close to his weight and he still gets criticized.
