  • Comments Thread For: Haney-Kambosos Averaged 1,322,000 Viewers, Peaked At 1,355,000 On ESPN

Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. didn't exactly produce 12 scintillating rounds of action, but they did deliver the viewing audience ESPN executives sought from their lightweight title unification fight.

Loma and Linares did better than that, doing a little over 2 million. And Loma vs Lopez did about 4.2 million in viewers. I think that speaks to Haney's ability to get people to tune in, and after that nights performance, he'll be lucky to get half that next time.

Very solid numbers considering Haney isn't a name people know and Kambosis just appeared on the public's radar against Teo.

How if I'm never going to see him again for the rest of my life? He's got you to keep him afloat, fighting in Casinos because that's exactly where he's headed. (I will make the exception to see Tank or Loma rob him blind of those belts, however.)

Pretty low numbers and Haney didn’t exactly gain any more fans with that dominant Wladesque stinker. Compare that with Tank and that nasty KO against Rolly that is still being talked about.

I don't think it has much to do with either guys star power. It's just championship boxing on a big platform. Congratulations to Haney but he'll never build any kind of fanbase with his ugly jab and grab style.

Time will now that Haney is champ and is getting his face on ESPN instead of fighting in obscurity on DAZN.

If Floyd Mayweather's boring ass style can make him the biggest star in the sport, ANYTHING is possible.

If he fights Ryan Garcia after Kambosis, I think the winner of that could come out of there as potentially the next big deal in boxing.
