In all, the 122-pound championship bout between Philadelphia’s Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs), the WBC and WBO champ, and Los Angeles’ Roman (29-4-1, 10 KOs), a former IBF and WBA champ, drew an average of 199,000 viewers. Fulton-Roman, which headlined a Premier Boxing Champions card at The Armory in Minneapolis, attracted a peak audience of 251,000 in its early rounds.
How long before execs pull the plug?

If Floyd Mayweather's boring ass style can make him the biggest star in the sport, ANYTHING is possible.

If he fights Ryan Garcia after Kambosis, I think the winner of that could come out of there as potentially the next big deal in boxing.
But Floyd wasn't boring. Especially before his hands went to ****. Before then he was must watch TV, and that's how he got his audience. And Floyd used more than just his lead hand.

It's funny that you mention the Davis fight. Way less punches were thrown and landed in that fight. I think the total for the whole 6 rounds wasn't even 60 punches. Still it was more exciting with the intrigue and suspension that you knew anything was about to happen at anytime. I haven' t heard anyone complain on here or elsewhere.

More to do with the personalities and killer instinct.

People comparing numbers to four or five years ago continue to ignore just how much the viewership game has changed. Nearly half and sometimes even more than half of the SHO PPV according to Espinoza are digital now. ESPN+'s subscribers have gone up big time and I am sure close to half watched this fight on the app.

These are very good numbers with no big lead-in that often times skew numbers.

Not bad, good for Haney, what he did to make this fight happen should be appreciated.

This. I literally know one person who still has cable and she’s a retired officer in her late 60s who’ll die as a cop and never socialises. that’s literally the only person I know who doesn’t stream

Look at how much better the Stevenson/Valdez and Haney/Kambosos did compared to the rest. The TR shows even with lesser known names were doing much better LINEAR numbers four or five years ago. Doesn't mean there are less eyes on the fight just because the linear viewership has decreased.

Anything over a Million for Boxing in America is Good since the sport as a Whole is just not that popular

Hell if you can get 500K People to actually stop and watch Boxing in this ERA is a WIN

Stevenson and Haney getting good nunbers despite having styles people say casuals don't want to see as well.
