Why are people more concerned about the number of people that bought tickets or ppv as opposed to the quality of opposition? Boxing is so backward. Fans have become so defensive they can't see what is clear to everyone else. I hope he realises this and leaves mayweather but its clear to me that's not going to happen

Because his fans can use it to justify the continual ****ty competition. You had Ellerbe in an article here a day or two ago blatantly confirm it aint about competition but putting asses in seats . Who are those great fighters he should fight at 135? Our definition of "great" is different. I don't think someone like Kambosos is even good. Ryan? Haney? None of those are great. If they want the fight, they should send offers. Why put it all on Davis?

I'm not claiming any one fighter there is great. But those are probably 3 of the top 4 guys he can face. Not to mention, maybe Stevenson, if he steps up. The greatness comes from an accumulation of beating the best the division has to offer, and the surrounding divisions also. I'd think we can agree that, that isn't Barrios, Cruz and Romero. All I'm saying is, here's a guy that could be something truly special, and all he needs is that chance to shine. And I certainly criticise Garcia plenty. And Haney, who I like, is far from perfect. But they're just the best around at the moment.

He is a boxing attraction, no doubt. So was Butterbean. Let's see him fight a top fighter. I'll jump on the bandwagon if he beats somebody good. I said the same thing about Deontay Wilder. As soon as he fought somebody good, he lost.

He had a gate of 19k! Biggest in the stadium’s history! Oh yea what revenue did it produce? What are the PPV #’s ? Don’t have them huh. But Madonna and Micheal strahan showed up, so he’s a star, ok. As an attraction, yes. But not yet as a fighter. Those training wheels need to come off now. He's acknowledged that himself. He's a good kid. I do hope his people allow him the chance to seek genuine greatness.

Because Kambosos is the lineal, and realistically the undisputed champion. It doesn’t matter if he’s great or not. He beat the guy that beat the guy. That’s why we’ve got belts.
