Why would it need a cap ? The problem is where the class starts that’s where the Bridgerweight class got it right and I’m betting most will follow suit years to come just like the Cruiserweight division did . Things just don’t stand still time moves on but putting a cap in heavyweight makes no sense . I actually think the new Titan class created by the Thor vs Hall fight is a fun idea even though that’s not real pro boxing .

well AJ just got schooled by a cruiserweight so no it doesnt need a cap and I dont want it split between super heavy and heavy.

Fury is a super rarity and only has a few years left. Most guys that size dont have the skill, speed, fluidity and stamina he has. Even valuev was rare for what he was, that a 300 pound man had stamina for 12 rounds and could break the top 10 was rare enough.


Look at someone like david price, hes huge and gets his ass kicked by small guys all the time.

Guys who are like 220 already have the option to cut weight for cruiser. There is no reason to split up the heavy division.

I am just naturally leery of changes to pure weight classes in boxing, I am biased... I admit as much... With that said maybe its a good idea, for some of these massive weight lifters, butterbean and such... I still think if legit talent emerges they should do what cuisers and light heavies do and challenge for the heavyweight crown.

moving cruiserweight from 190 to 200 was already the solution. that bridgeweight is a waste of time, super heavy is a waste of time.


anyone at 190 was already able to fight at 175. Anyone 220 or so can fight at cruiser or take their shot at heavyweight. Yeah there are more and more heavyweights who are 240+ but really you arent forced to even fight at heavy unless you are 230+ because you could cut to cruiser if you wanted to.

Wilder and Usyk are like two of the top 5 heavyweights in this era of supposed super heavys and they could fight at cruiser if they really wanted to.


Fighters have to make the decision all the time if they want to be in a less glamorous division (like cruiserweight) or move up to a more populated division. This isnt unique to heavyweight, the smaller guys have to make the decision all the time and it varies where the top talent and money fights are and up to them to make the decision. We dont need new weight classes to solve this problem for guys in the 200-225 pound weight range.
