Diabetes occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin in the body in order to metabolize the blood glucose level in the body. It has nothing to do with eating sugar or too many sweets. it has everything to do with keeping one's weight under control through dieting, exercising and healthy eating.

The more one eats the higher their blood sugar rises (hyperglycemia). The less one eats the lower the blood sugar or one's blood glucose level rises (hypoglycemia). Also, diabetes doesn't develop from eating too many carbohydrates like sugars and starches either.

One can eat a bucket of KFC, McDonalds, steaks, caviar, Burger King and still develop diabetes. As I've stated earlier; Type II diabetes comes from being overweight and overeating.

Although very young he made such an impact as a father 1st and then raising each to be very good boxers each in their own right. I'm sad myself because I had been seeing them so long and my daughter went to college in Baltimore, and I never had a chance to stop bye and acknowledge them while they were training. I pray for strength within this family and that they won't put all the knowledge and training in vain. May he rest peacefully!

i am no longer going to educate you on this topic of Type II Diabetes. In your spare time go and do your own research on this topic. Go google it! It's going to confirm everything I've just explained to you.

Using insulin would help that, right?

Condolences to the Russell family. Such incredible talent in boxing in the family genes.

Gary Antuanne Russell is clearly world champion material, and the others all skillful and of course Gary Jr.

How to reverse Type-2. I know, because I did. Cut back the carbs, drop some weight, and if eating sugar in something, walk for 10 minutes right afterward because that cuts the sugar spike way down. Take Chromium Picolinate (1,000MG, and Vanadium 2.5MG) about 10 bucks each for a 3 month supply. A chinese study took over 500 people with diabetes and gave them Chromium Picolinate and all but one person showed the reversal. I know what I'm talking about because 4 years ago I was diagnosed with type-2 and after applying these suggestions, I went from an A1C of 7.4 to 6.1. Without any medication!

Exactly. So following a doctor's advice on insulin intake would help. I should know. I watched my family members do it for decades.

You want to abstain from all sugars because they are harmful. Sugar is a simple carbohydrate. However, the complex carbohydrates which are starches like corn, potatoes and rice are much healthier for a diabetic. However, Ice cream, cake, soft drinks, cookies and candy are definite no nos for a diabetic because it contains too much sugar.
