Ramirez is a good fight, I agree. Probably wouldn’t be my personal top choice seeing as he’s a light welter but it’s a very good fight. If the rumours are true that Taylor-Catterall II is Josh’s next fight and he’s going to vacate the WBC though (Zepeda rescheduled purse bid date tomorrow) it would make zero sense for Ramirez to take the fight based on his ranking at 140 with governing bodies, as RJJ says.
I believe Hearn has been knocked back a couple of times with offers to Ramirez, so maybe it’s not the money for him. But yes the old Hearn spiel of ‘We offered Ramirez the fight, he turned it down … Mikey Garcia retired rather than face Benn’ will be brought straight out & he’ll fight Hooker or Guerrero instead.Comment

Have to be honest I consider myself fairly clued up on the domestic scene but don’t think I’ve seen Docherty fight. I see he’s pretty young and that he lost a close one to Cullen on a Matchroom card (was that deserved?). Nice to know there’s someone else around at 168 domestically though, it’s a bit of a wasteland atm it seems.
Another addition to the CBS-Chamberlain card is John Docherty vs Diego Costa, I’m assuming Docherty will be signing with Boxxer. Ben Whittaker’s debut opponent will be Greg O’Neill as well, he’s 6-6-1 so a half decent test.
Yeah he only has one fight left on his current deal with Matchroom. Okolie has all but confirmed he’ll be leaving Matchroom for Boxxer. Matchroom have sent a legal letter to Boxxer over how they approached Okolie so not much us being said in the media but expect Okolie to be back on Sky in the near future.
Great info once again, cheers. So if I’m interpreting you correctly we’re going to see Okolie on a DAZN card next? Or will him and Hearn reach an agreement that he’s going Boxxer?Comment

Matchroom had high hopes for Docherty, he looked an exciting prospect and most expected him to beat Cullen, but Cullen exposed him a bit. He looked a bit one dimensional and over reliant on his power. Cullen was the deserved winner. Costa is also a decent puncher as well so it should be fun while it lasts.

It’s a tough one, Matchroom could be petty and just shelve him for a while if they wanted to. Legal teams getting involved is never a good sign too. Hopefully they come to a reasonable resolution where either Okolie just completes his one fight and goes or just moved directly to Boxxer. Unsure how it all shakes out tbh mate.Comment

I actually don't mind this one. Hooker has had a few fights at 147 and he's a tall, lanky guy that hits pretty hard. Think he's underrated personally and could see him giving Benn all kinds of troubleComment

Fair enough, sounds a good addition to what’s already an enticing card imo. I know you mentioned Whittaker’s opponent, do you know much of Frazer’s? I don’t think it’d be possible not to be a step up from his last …

The Okolie situation does seem a bit messy. Either way I wouldn’t have thought his next opponent would be up to much … Matchroom won’t want to put up the £££, and Boxxer won’t want to risk the potential Riakporhe unification you’ve alluded to before. We’ll see how it goes I suppose

Thought Matchroom dropped Doch too quick, think he's gonna rebound and have a good career still

It’s probably better than I expected. I just don’t really rate Hooker tbh. Be interesting to see if Benn can stop him quicker than Ortiz did.Comment

Think it’s still a TBA for Frazer at the moment. Yeah I agree, I could see Matchroom just giving him a token defence in his next fight.
