Have read elsewhere that the September Sky card might be Shields-Marshall and Parker-Browne as suggested but Mayer-Baumgardner instead of the Hughie Fury fight? Is that likely? Surely they can't PPV that.

Surely they can’t put that on PPV, nobody is gonna pay for female boxing, it’s just not that marketable. I do not see the point in bringing Mayer-Baumgardner to the UK either. Surely that fight does better business in America.

Yh I'm not sure it was suggested to be on PPV; just wondered whether that meant the Hughie fight might fall on another date

I’d guess so. Strange they haven’t rescheduled it yet, makes me wonder whether it’s off.

Maurice Hooker is the frontrunner to fight Conor Benn now.

Why can’t they find an actual Welterweight? Garcia, Ramirez, Hooker etc all 140 guys coming up.

The viable welters (Kavaliauskas, Ava etc) probably all hit too hard for Benn to be risked with them. I feel like he must’ve been dropped heavy in sparring or something.
Didn’t hate the Ramirez fight to be honest but I just want to see him in there with someone hungry. Guys like Algieri, van Heerden & Mikey (if that fight came off) there’s that lingering feeling that they’re content to lose for the payday.

You were right about Pigford on the CBS Bournemouth card. Azim’s brother & Lawal are on there as well. Looks quite a decent card.

Eddie was mentioning in an IFL interview that big things are coming for DAZN’s UK schedule. When he was asked about Benn, it seemed as if the Benn fight wasn’t necessarily the main thing he was alluding to … wonder what else he’s got up his sleeve.

On another note, I’d have thought Okolie won’t be on the AJ card now, but I think I read he has one more fight with Matchroom? Is that true?

Another addition to the CBS-Chamberlain card is John Docherty vs Diego Costa, I’m assuming Docherty will be signing with Boxxer. Ben Whittaker’s debut opponent will be Greg O’Neill as well, he’s 6-6-1 so a half decent test.

Yeah he only has one fight left on his current deal with Matchroom. Okolie has all but confirmed he’ll be leaving Matchroom for Boxxer. Matchroom have sent a legal letter to Boxxer over how they approached Okolie so not much us being said in the media but expect Okolie to be back on Sky in the near future.

                  I'd be good with Benn-Ramirez

That’s easily the best option out of the three. I just can’t see Ramirez moving up from 140 when he’s #1 with the WBC and WBO. Rumours Taylor could vacate the WBC too.

Money always makes a difference. And it's not at all a bad fight. Ortiz fought Hooker, Boots fought Ennis. If Benn fights Ramirez that's perfectly fine.
