No he does not! Joe's chin was too good and his defensive skills also. Not to mention the fact that Jones never smashed a really good lhw or smw. He beat a drained Toney. All the best opponents he beat on points, like McCallum, Reggie Johnson, Tarver.
I give Joe as much credit as i give Trevor Berbick for beating Ali. It takes nothing from Roy's legacy and benefits Joe's very little. Joe's major claim to greatness is holding the WBO belt for twelve years, who considered it a legetimate world title when he started out? Joe's career is whorty of mention but pales in comparsion to Jones.
Roy beats Joe in his prime... even Joe felt the same way back when Roy was still prime.
“I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he’s ever had,” said Calzaghe. “But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown ***els I wouldn’t want to risk it.”-Joe Calzaghe

ANYBODY in this thread, stating that Joe beats Roy in his prime, based off their fight last year, doesnt know **** about boxing.
Reed I still think Joe gives Roy the biggest challenge of his career, pre-Tarver. I never said he'd beat him, but he'd make it a difficult fight for Jones. Joe even alludes to that in the qoute there.

I agree I think Joe gives him a real tough fight... but 2000 Roy Jones and 2009 Roy Jones? Not even worth discussing the differences.
