With that said, I had it 7-5 for Bivol. A lot of people gave Bivol all of rounds 1-4, which I didn’t think any fighter in particular “won” any of those. Those rounds were too close. I think round 5 was when Bivol really started pouring it on Canelo. Also, the fighter with the clearest rounds won was Bivol. He won his rounds in dominating fashion. Canelo, even in the rounds he won, labored a ton.
    Nah

Bivol is the kind of guy to give his opponents extra rounds

    He’s like that

I see your argument entirely there. As if a neutral position belongs to the big player by default.

I gave him 3 rounds, but when I saw compubox, I was surprised. On that basis, could have been a shut out, but (a) I don’t know how accurate it is, and (b) I saw the odd round where, although Bivol outlanded, it wasn’t by much, while Canelo made direct contact with some hard shots (albeit, turns out they didn’t trouble Bivol).

Some fair points here. Honestly, I don’t believe he really thinks Canelo won 4; think he’s being very generous.

You’re right, some early rounds were close, maybe they could have been scored draw

Either way, 3 max for Canelo by my scoring. Bivol may have won as few as 7 rounds, sure, but no chance Canelo won 5.

Bivol being to careful opened up the doors for the judges to cheat. He dominated this fight and should've went for the TKO

If that's what you guys think, then none of you know how to score a fight . It's as simple as that. Bivol won all 12 rounds. Not even a question. If you score a round the way a fight is supposed to be scored, and that's by " connected " punches to the head and body ( abdomen), not connected punches to the gloves, elbows, shoulders , forearms , hips, and air, then this is a one sided shutout. Nevermind mind the fact judges are supposed take into account " ring generalship". Bivol controlled everything each and every round. The pace, the distance , everything. He actually toyed with Canelo. How did Canelo even get a round ? If he did by any of your scorecards, it was out of pity. Because by the scoring rules of boxing, he won none. If Canelo got brave and tried to up his pace or punch count, Bivol easily topped whatever Canelo did. Each and every round. This fight was a one sided boxing clinic.

Yeah, I get that, but I gave him the rounds where Bivol didn't outland him by much, but Canelo landed some heavy shots to the face. As for ring generalship. Bivol's was far superior, but in said rounds that I gave the other way, he found himself on the ropes when Canelo still had the energy to cut the ring off (somewhat).

Yeah, I've taken into account arm shots and the like. Obviously.

Bivol...listen, bro....you're a humble guy and I get it, but don't say stuff like this! You believe Canelo won 4 rounds, max?! That's waaaay too close to 5 rounds which is how we arrived at those 115-113 cards.

Don't let Team Canelo get any ideas and decide to "dispute" the scorecards. I mean, that's much easier than pursuing a rematch and Canelo can save face in the process. Stop being so nice, Bivol. Just say you blasted this fool out so they won't get any ideas....and this is coming from a Canelo fan. Lol
