A LOT of y'all are dismissing the mindset of Dmitry. I don't care if you have all of his skills, if you don't have the mental fortitude to walk into the ring and OWN IT, you're not beating Canelo Alvarez. It wasn't just Bivol's skill and style. It was his mind.

He was saying all the right things in the build up to the fight. He also looked totally focused during the ring walk, looked completely unphased by the crowd, the moment, the spotlight. Dude was mentally superior as well.

Oh for sure, he personally isn’t making 160.

But, I was trying to say that if Bivol, or anyone that fights exactly like him, was a 160 pounder, they’d always beat a Canelo that came in fighting like that, and that size is nowhere near as much to do with it as footwork, ring generalship, and superior hand speed.

You see with those attributes, Bivol could engage with Canelo at will, beat him to the punch, and then disengage without ever being in danger of Canelo catching him.

Biv was in the pocket for those exchanges, too, so gave up any reach advantage he might have had, plus his wide legged stance sees him fight ‘shorter’, anyway.

Bivol has a pretty unique skillset. Granted.

First off, it was his mind that beat Canelo.

Secondly, he has real POWER. Everyone that fights him comments on his power.

I don't see anyone below 175 beating Canelo with ANY style. Not yet anyway.

Idk how people so easily dismiss GGG. IMO the third fight with Canelo would again be a pick ‘em.

pick-em? Canelo would be a clear favorite against a 40 yr old past his prime Ggg, who has shown obvious diminishing skills in every category in his last 2. Everyone wanted the 3rd fight after the 2nd because in most eyes it 1-1. Dont think Canelo wanted to go thru a 3rd war with Ggg..its like he waited him out once again.

When Canelo gets schooled, he doesn’t seem like the kind of fighter that wants to do it again and make an emphatic statement. When wilder got rocked and battered against Ortiz he wanted to do it again, and did. When he got outboxed by fury he wanted to do it again, when he got beaten in that attempt he tried for a third time. When Mayweather had it tough with Mariana and Castillio he fought them both again because people said they beat him, he made adjustments and beat them both. This level of heart abs risk just doesn’t seem to be something Canelo believes he has it can do or perhaps doesn’t want to risk hurting his brand enough. I think Canelo is well aware that the boxing establishment caters to him as the popular Mexican fighter of the day. I think he knows he is a gravy train that the establishment will protect because everyone is making money off him

For those saying Canelo should rematch Bivol. That's the equivalent of Mikey Garcia rematching Errol Spence.

With that embarassing schooling, there's no point in a rematch. The result will always be the same. Bivol beats any version of Canelo.

Theres no point in a third GGG fight either, GGG is too old if Canelo really felt some way he would of finished that chapter years ago when it was fresh. If i was GGG i would tell Canelo to **** off after robbing me twice then using me as a get out because he bit off more than he can chew. He should go fight fresher younger champions.
