Mayweather would have NEVER taken such a risk

Bivol wasn’t a stylistic nightmare. He was a 5-1 favorite.
Castillo was bigger. He was the best in the division. Floyd beat him his 1st fight there.
Corrales was taller and had a longer reach. Floyd was the underdog.
Odh was the cash cow and made Floyd wear specific gloves and controlled everything.
Stop going with the fake and false narratives just because you guys
hate that Floyd beat your favorites.

Aren’t odds determined by how the general public will bet
Oddmakers are there to make themselves money first
Bivol was a good but unknown fighter with limited big fight experience. People did not know about himComment

Being the favorite has nothing to do with it, idiot. That 5-1 underdog status shows that it’s mostly casuals who set and bet on the odds. To have Bivol has 5-1 is ridiculous and any serious boxing fan knew better. No way Canelo was going to just walk though this man as he was a 5-1 underdog. And yes, Mayweather fought those bums. They weren’t as proven as Bivol nor in their prime. Just stop.
Floyd fought the top guy his first time at LW and JMW. Canelo has yet to fight the top LHW.
Floyd defeated a number of opponents that he was a 4-1 or 5-1 favorite over. He just didn’t lose like canelo.
You created this thread because not only did canelo lose, he did the same thing he did with Floyd, gave up and didn’t go for the ko win knowing he was way down on the cards.
Canelo, as great as he is, now has 2 losses where he didn’t even try to win like the warrior you and his other diehard fans claim he is.
Clearly, that hurts and the only way you know how to deal with it is try and make him braver than Floyd.
You can’t because as a poster on this site- even one with canelo in his name, you can’t justify quitting like this.
Canelo has all the same cash cow advantages Floyd, ODH, SRL etc have. What he hasn’t shown is the guts to go for the ko win when down to a superior boxer.
Yeah he ko’d Old Kov. But Floyd and Bivol ain’t kov.
Where was the Chavez v Taylor determination to overcome a deficit?
Where was the guile and grit the great Mexican boxers are known for?
Bravery isn’t signing to fight Bivol, it’s going balls out and risking a ko loss when you’re way down and only a ko can win.
This thread can’t make Canelo the man you want him to be. He didn’t go out on his shield. He went out like a rich man knowing he can use his a side advantages in the rematch.
Sorry Blew Canelo, but you can’t make this any better.Comment

To move up to a weight class where he would be giving away a size advantage and IMMEDIATELY take on one of the undefeated champions who stylistically would be a nightmare. History will be kinder to Canelo. He’s a throwback fighter. Remember, it’s Mayweather who said “I don’t put myself in a position where I might lose”.Last edited by hugh grant; 05-10-2022, 09:03 AM.Comment

A lot has been said on this thread but the thread is so true. Floyd wouldn't even fight best in his own division, no thurman, spence, brook, bradley.? I mean how can you literally avoid all of them in your weight class? Floyd achieves the nigh near impossible. I mean we could understand if Floyd didn't fight one of them in his career but to avoid all of them? I'm scratching my head to this day.
Then from the first ducking of the welterweight division you can throw in Prime Cotto, Prime Manny, Margarito, Paul Williams, etc.Comment
