Bivol is no fool like you. Hes trying to set up his family for a lifetime, that only comes with fighting Canelo and with him still taking the lesser share. If Bivol aint fighting Canelo, nobody is paying to watch him. Of course he deserves to get a hell of a whole lot more but pls be serious when you blut out Canelo taking challenger's share of the purse.Thats it Bivol stick to your gun's, force Canelo to take the challenger's share of the purse.
If Mr. Arrogant won't agree to that, then he can eat his defeat without the opportunity to possibly win in a rematch.
Which I highly doubt that he can, the more likely scenario is that he gets beaten even worse than the first time around.

The rematch has to be at 175 otherwise Canelo will get criticized for draining Bivol, the same way Leonard drained Lalonde and Ward drained Dawson.Comment

I don't care about life changing money. To me it is all about principle. When Benavidez, Andrade and Charlo wanted to challenge Canelo; He told all of them that they should fight each other first so he could decide to fight the winner. So then the same principles should be applied to him.
I get your point, but you would really say not to that type of money?? we're not talking Teo vs Loma money or Fury vs Whyte money.. It's to much $$$, Bivol could retire after the rematch spend the rest of his life lobbying the gov to get Canelo's record deleted from history and still not have to work another day. He allegedly voiced his disapproval of the war, if so, just security is gonna be very expensive for Bivol. This isn't the NHL and even they can't guarantee security to the point that stars can speak their mind without fearing for their family.
If he wants to fight Bivol again then at least let him fight another contender or titleholder to prove himself worthy at this weight division. So Bivol could decide whether or not to fight the winner. He shouldn't be allowed to cut the line because of who he is.
Besides, since when is the challenger is entitled to an immediate rematch after coming off a loss to the champion?

i never said it did. Personally, I would love to see Bivol beat Canelo's ass some more and send him packing with at least three Ls on his record back to the 168 SMW division. However, what's good for the goose is also good for the gander.
You do know the name of the game is prizefighting and Bivol is no fool. He understands where the payday lies so all those American middleweights who by the way refuses to fight anyone of note unless it is Canelo have no bearing on Bivol's actions which is to pursue a well deserved payday that he would have earned by defeating Canelo the other night in a rematch. Your point unfortunately doesn't hold the same parallel cos Canelo by virtue of his stature can get a bite of any apple in any division whenever he decides to.
if Canelo said that all the top and undefeated American middleweights should fight each other first in order to prove who is more worthy of him and then he would fight the winner.
If that's how he feels, then Canelo should practice what he preaches by living by the same rules and criteria he has placed on others. The excuses, hypocrisy and double standards should end.
if Alvarez is so convinced that he is worthy of a rematch with Dmitry then let him prove it by fighting and defeating a LHW contender or titleholder. So that way Bivol could decide whether or not he would want to fight the winner.

It's worth nothing Bivol said in the past he could easily make 168. He's on the small side for a light heavyweight. Not sure if he said that trying to get the Canelo fight in the past or what but I'd love see him take Canelo's belts at 168.Comment

You might not care about life changing money but Bivol certainly does.

And he has earned it by beating Canelo.Comment

Well it’s just the way it is. I can respect whatever decision he does decide to make because he has earned it by becoming a champion. Even if that does mean giving Canelo a rematch.Comment

Floyd did the same with Oscar
do anything it takes to get the cash cow in the ring first
beat him then make your termsComment
