Why was Bivol able to back up Canelo when GGG and Kovalev couldn't?

GGG backed up Canelo in the first fight. Reason is because GGG was consistent in his jab the entire bout.

Bivol through a lot of jabs too. Canelo has problems with guys who jab a lot and guys who have very slick styles.

    Kovalev was very past prime.

      The combination punching overwhelmed Alvarez.

bivol was not getting countered, he wasnt afraid of anything canelo was throwing. canelo was going for uppercuts, trying to hook around the guard, trying to split it, none of that worked. bivol was always aware of the distance, he would throw his shots but never go overboard and over commit. canelo even tried to rope a dope to tire out bivol some and he didnt fall for that either.
4-5-6 punch combos are harder to counter, unless your floyd.

canelo does not have that ability

bivol used combo punching perfectly and fired right back

Bivol is actually quicker than Canelo.

Canelo was quicker than GGG and Kov.

He moved forward after Canelo through and wasn't afraid of the counters because of his speed.

Kovalev had hydration clauses placed on him.

From what I heard, with Bivol complaining about the contract post-fight, they may put some type of stipulations on him, concerning weight and other things. And Good Ole Hearn said there was no non-disclosure agreements. Can't trust any promoter.

What did Bivol have that the others didn't?
Canelo gassed out in about 15 seconds in round 1, he wasn’t acclimatised to the new weight class.

From what i gathered....Kovalev couldn't because he wasn't 100% recovered, driven and was intimidated by Canelo. For Golovkin did back Canelo up in the first fight but in the second fight, Reynoso camp saw that Golovkin has issues getting pressured and is vulnerable to the body. With Bivol, he had more success because he had a good combination of power and speed. He also did something no one else did, he would let Canelo throw his 1-2 power shots and then once Canelo had to reset/recharge...he'd fire the jab and combinations. This disrupted Canelo's timing and wore him down and forced him back to the ropes
