You are wrong. I asked for that, because I have always felt Bivol would be too much for ginger.

I was laughing all around when the fight was announced.

"You look at the fight with Craig Richards and Castillo before that, those performances didn't tell you that that form would beat Canelo Alvarez" Hearn

You and maybe 5 die hard fans. I'm talking casual fans. This is not a fight that was made because there was fan demand. Out of all the options available it was the least commercially viable opponent for Canelo to fight during Cinco De Mayo a unknown (to casual fans) Russian

Fortunately, Canelo was ****** enough to think he would also beat Usyk, lol lol.

I know what you mean. casuals demanded Charlo and Benavidez.

In one way I give Canelo props for taking fights he has no reason to but they inflated his ego with some debatable decisions over the years and some well thought out match ups.

Honestly Bivol was toying with him and canelo looked powerless in there

There is no other promoter that makes the cash cow king go up in weight when you have so many bigger names and bigger fights that can be made at 168. They foolishly made canelo give up physical advantages and hurt Canelo's brand and wasted more money for DAZN who have been trying forever to recoup money lost on GGG and Canelo fights other guys but not each other. And Canelo and Reynoso heads were too big and allowed it a fight nobody asked for that Hearn jamned down their throats.
What do you think Hearn did to make Canelo fight Bivol instead of Charlo or Benavides?

Here we are again, jumping up to light heavyweight and fighting a massive guy, too big for Canelo. Canelo didn’t have the power or size to be in there.

If Canelo would “arrive” to permanent 175lb status and was going to fill in and gain the weight, acclimate, then sure, let’s take the fight after working our way up.

Eddie Reynoso I feel sometimes thinks Canelo is Superman and gets lost in the matchmaking.
Sure, but we should applaud that.

most of us criticize the match making that has ruined boxing. In the 80s Duran got faceplanted, still an ATG.

crawfords best fights are Gamboa and gatekeeper Porter and we reward him with mythical P4P.

I’ll rather have Canelo type boxers.

Did the same nonsense with Kell Brook too.

Short term it made financial sense but it also ruined Brook's career.

It was a mirror of the Brook/Golovkin scenario. GG/Bivol just clearly naturally too big for Brook/Nelo who were blown up at the weight.

Yeah I kept saying in the buildup this was terrible match making. Low reward and high risk while putting Canelo at a weight disadvantage. He stopped a shopworn and unmotivated Kovalev and thought they could do the same to monsters like Bivol and Beter.

The PBC deal was much better and he and his camps are fools for not taking it. Charlo and Benavidez fights were much easier for him and would’ve been garnered more PPV attention. Now he lost to a complete unknown in a weight class he should’ve never been at.
