Haha no explanation of how Taylor won those rounds or the fact that she was getting pushed back by a 118 lber for the majority of the fight classic response. Nobody is salty I'm not Puerto Rican or Irish I could give 2 ****s but from a fighting perspective look at their body language at the end of the fight headbutting Taylor cut up Serrano but aside from that she didn't take any damage meanwhile Taylors nose was bleeding from the beginning until the end and her face was bruised up with glassy eyes. She landed some shots and won rounds I'm not dis*****g that but there's no way she won the first 3 rounds and she didn't win round 10 either. 7,8,9 and you could give a swing round or 2 to make it 4-5 rounds.

You also didn't mention anything about round 5 where Katie took a pasting and had to hold on for dear life if there was ever a 10-8 round without a knockdown it was that. What round did Taylor have that was as dominating as that?

Youre clearly letting your emotional bias clouding your judgement like so many of this site. The American commentary was shocking mc caskill should never be allowed commentate again and sadly that alone influenced people watching. My dilemma was whether it was a draw of Taylor 6-4.
Sure as you point out serrano did damage in round 5 and was the more powerful puncher but Katie certainly won the first 2 rounds. And after 5 and 6 she easily won the next 3 with the last being a slugfest Taylor was more accurate for most of the round and prob shaved it.
Why csnt people call it as it is a close fight that Taylor edged. Persoon beat Taylor on my opinion but she certainly didn't lose 6 rounds in this fight if you score it round by round

Thought I'd chime in on this because was too drunk last night to do so.

I felt this was stolen from Amanda, period. Either make the fight a draw or Amanda should of got the nod. No way did Taylor stand out as the busier fighter that put on more damage. Heck, her face looked bust up and defeated at the end and you basically knew off that who was getting the better of the fight. Sure, I though Amanda started a tad slow but in the second half, she clearly stepped on the gas and I honestly thought Taylor was taking too much punishment. Then to hear at the end the announcer call her the winner? I felt like I was robbed.

Sucks for Amanda but I hope she won over even more fans and she can go on to another huge paycheck because she deserved it.

You should probably also rewatch the fight sober. Who's the busier fighter and how someone's face looks after the fight has nothing to do with scoring rounds

I doubt your biased mind will allow youto also accept for the majority of the final round taylor was the more accurate with her shots. If you think that was a robbery then you may learn how to score rounds in boxing and regardless of who you support try to have a neutral unbiased view.

Nope. Serrano's left hand couldn't miss for the first part of the fight and before the 5th I wondered when Taylor was going to start feeling the effects of them. Serrano EASILY won 5-6 rounds in that fight, the last was a slugfest but Serrano's punches did more damage. If that was a 3 minute round I think she would've stopped Taylor. The 5th should've been a 10-8 round. Giving Taylor the win is bull****.

Plenty of people agree Serrano won the fight and listen, I wouldn't have cared if Taylor legit won hardcore. I don't follow female boxing enough to care enough on the outcome but just going off what I saw. Perhaps Taylor did do a lot more than I gave her credit for but I'd have to rewatch. I've heard plenty others say they rewatched it and no way Taylor won so it sounds like it was a close fight either way and depending who you preferred, you're going to give the nod to.

There no way Taylor won the fight. 97-93 and 96-94 were horrendous. Matchroom fix was in and everyone in boxing knows it. How many shows a year does MVP promotions hold? And how does matchroom hold? Judges know who’s paying their bills. Serrano beat Taylor up and almost stopped her. You could give Taylor a draw if I want to give her every benefit but she did NOT win that fight. I’m a Canadian I have no bias towards either fighter I thought it was a great fight and thought both girls put on a hell of a show

When u say lots of people that simply refers to disgruntled serrano fans. Listen 5-5 would have being fine with the and 6-4 Taylor works too but you simply cannot give it to serrano on the basis that if you go round by round on the metrics to score a fight Taylor clearly won 5 rounds at the least. And im sorry to say as dominant as serrano was in round 5 it's not enough to afford her a 10-8 round

i think the problem you'll find with boxing fans is most have no idea how to score a round like simply don't have a clue.

Either way an unbelievable fight and they'll have to run it back..

My comment was in response to someone saying she should give her a rematch. I'm abundantly aware you doing get points for grit :/
We're clearly going to disagree on this, but I thought Katie edged the early rounds, and definitely won the last three or four (last round was tight but she did cut her). Serrano did batter her in the middle rounds, but as good as she was that was only a three round period, if she'd kept it up she'd have won.

Don't know where you get this permanently damaged stuff from, Katie Taylor does literally the same thing in every fight the last couple of years. Start off boxing well, get caught in a war she has no business being in, composes herself and goes back to boxing clever and etching out the win. Rinse and repeat. Did it for Persoon twice, Jonas and Serrano last night.

There not talking about 12 3 minute rounds that's just nonsense speculation. Everyone keeps getting hung up in the beating she took in the 5th round yet fail to appreciate whereas while serrano gassed out Katie recomposed herself and whitewashed her the last 4 rounds. Yes she got tagged a few times in the 10th but she landed the more regular cleaner shots in that round also even tho she avoided her stick and move tactics to throw down in the last.

For you to say Taylor will be damaged permanently from this fight shows u you kmow nothing about Taylor. Persoon gave her a worse beating and it's didn't take her soul as you put it. Katie's a true champion and won all the championship rounds so enough said
