say what you want but Paul’s the reason Katie Taylor got paid $1 million for a fight, something Eddie Hearn couldn’t do schlepping around as her promoter for almost 10 years. It’s funny watching Taylor, her Irish fans and the boosters in the media doing their current gaslighting act of wildly celebrating and hailing her ‘win’ while pretending to ignore the fact that everyone else knows she didn’t actually win.

    • Grayson Allen gets another gift decision in her high profile fights. Serrano won this fight.

I will admit that Serrano took her foot off the gas in rounds 7-8 & 9. Those rounds she lost. But, lose the fight? Never in a million years. The commentators were shilling every punch Taylor threw from Rd.1 on. That's why the Arums, Kings & the like tell the judges that they will never work another fight that they are promoting if they don't score the fight for the boxer they are promoting. End of story.
In many ways, it was the same as Persoon 1. Katie wins the most rounds, but in some of the rounds she lost (notably 5), she got battered. But I had it 6-4 Katie (with 5 being a 2 pointer for Serrano) -> 95-94 Taylor. If you think 1-3 weren't close, you are simply a troll.

        • I thought Serrano allowed this fight to slip through her hands. I mean it was her fight to lose. Why she decided to throw it away I'll never understand? Don't get me wrong.

I thought she still won the fight but at the same time she made the huge mistake by letting Katie Taylor off the hook while coasting the last four rounds. Those rounds were pivotal.

It made the fight a lot closer than it should have been. Amanda had Taylor not only hurt and badly concussed but she was the stronger of the two also. She brought her power up with her which was something I never expected.

          • hmm they said Ireland where she's never fought a major fight, where has the talk of England come from it's a completely different country?

Wouldn't that logic rule out all of Roy Jones's wins? Serrano actually lives in Brooklyn that was her home town fight.

They know it. Even Eddie Hearn knows it too; Which is why he is not too keen on a rematch. That decision was a wrapped gift for Taylor. I mean she even looked like a defeated fighter.

              • People calling any close fights a robbery shouldn't score fights... That was a draw, though in the best case scenario edging to a Serrano 95-94 win with a 10-8 5th round which she completely dominated ... I had it 96-93 Serrano... No robbery though ...

Taylor's purses entered the 7-figure range since the Persoon rematch. This was Serrano's first 7-figure purse, and Paul definitely played a role in increasing her profile. I'm a firm believer that the bigger the match-up, the bigger the purses. This was a match-up where both should be making their highest purse, and they did. The fight also delivered on entertainment value too. The fight was too good and too monumental for it to not have a rematch, which I expect it to have.

                  • Taylor could have boxed to a wide ud but chose to stand and trade.

You don't get point's for having courage, heart, and guts, those attributes allow you to stay in the fight.
You accumulate points for hitting, and not being hit, not only did Amanda did that to a greater extent than Katie did.
Katie showed a ton of heart, and was able to go the distance, but she still lost this fight by 4 rounds.
She was as hurt as a fighter can get without getting knocked out, by their opponent, the judges just had to ruin a great fight.
Amanda really busted her up, it's going to take Katie week's to partially recover, because this beating has left her permanently debilitated.
They are deserving of a standing ovation for giving it all they had, and putting on a heroic performance for all the fan's of boxing.
