Bcs that's bullshıt. It was Reynoso's idea. His upper limit is 175.

Makabu got his ass whooped by Mchunu and was bailed out by Don King. Canelo didn't want to face a guy coming off a horrible performance he won via robbery.

Makabu was never that good to begin with. When boxing fans are entertaining the idea of an Undisputed Super Middleweight actually beating a Cruiserweight, you know the Cruiserweight is trash. He was there to make Canelo look good. Lol

Cause DAZN overpaid him to fight Bivol.

After Bivol and GGG were announced as his next opponents, I remember someone asked Canelo about Makabu, and he said maybe next year.

I think Golovkin 3 got in the way. Regardless of what some may think, there is unfinished business there, and Canelo going to 175 back down to 168 is much easier than going up to 190 or whatever it was back to 168 in the space of 4 months. Nash out.

Probably realised that the reaction for him fighting Makabu was pretty lukewarm and not really worth pursuing further.

They haven't changed the weight limit yet but Sulaiman will give him a heads up in advance
