Thats a great point my friend! Something that one learns with the sword also applies here... to incease that reach and protect, you turn sideways. Makes for a real nightmare of an opponent when the mass is so controllable, and the reach is so extendable. I don't fault Whyte... he is good like most of the heavies we see coming up these days... jab, step, step, jab. step jab... rinse repeat. If you look at the guys trained as ammys they cannot really move beyond that simple step and jab and maybe... if the stars align even throw something off the jab. Fury moves like the great fighters that graced the division in the seventies. Those guys had to be able to cut the ring, use angles, and otherwise do more than just step and punch.
I noticed in this fight how narrow Fury's shoulders are - all his reach is in his arms. From a biomechanics perspective it means that when his arms are down his centre of mass will be so much lower than heavies like Whyte, whose shoulders are significantly wider than his knees. It makes for fights like this where Fury looks like he's defying physics by moving so smoothly and quickly and Whyte just lumbers after him.
Whyte comes from kickboxing, and kickboxing, not Thai Boxing, but kickboxing, robs a fighter of decent martial arts technique, and robs them of decent footwork one needs to box. It doesn't show so much fighting a guy like Joshua who also cannot move... but when fighting a guy who knows how to move... Well we see the results.

Usyk is an unbelievable talent, no doubt. However, I just don’t see Usyk getting close enough to be able to do anything with Fury. Tyson will pick him apart from the outside then knock him the fk out just like he did with Whyte.

Only usyk possess ring iq to be able to beat fury unfortunately not the height n reach he would struggle against tysonComment

Wilder is probably ruined by two utterly brutal fights with fury in which he got the worst of it so I suspect he will quietly never fight again and face into the sunset however that man was the most dangerous opponent fury will face in his career. Fury solidified his place as the best in the division in those 3 fightsComment

I'm thinking it will go the distance, fury will edge it on points if I had to bet but ppl who say he's gonna walk through him are just plain wrongComment

I don't even know where to start here. Usyk has never fought professionally at 175. He was a huge cruiser. If you're calling him a light heavyweight to denigrate him in some fashion, that makes no sense. Usyk is 6' 3" and is rock-solid as a 220+ lbs heavyweight. My point is that Fury won't ever land that uppercut on Usyk. Watch the AJ fight. The uppercut is AJ's favorite punch. Not only did AJ never land one on Usyk, he never even got an opportunity to throw one because Usyk was prepared for it. He either kept out of range of it or snuffed it out whenever AJ loaded it up. Usyk rarely gets caught with punches he doesn't see coming the way Whyte did tonight.Please. Usyk is a light heavyweight who would have been knocked out of the ring by that Fury uppercut. I hope the Gypsy King fights one more fight to shut up all you idiot Usyk fans who have no knowledge about boxing at all. Usyk is an average light heavyweight with zero power. He would get annihilated by Fury in quick order. Stop with the Usyk noise. He isn’t in the top 100 heavyweight discussion.
Hopefully the fight happens. We'll only know when we know.Comment

There are some people here who are basing the result of the fight on Whyte and overhyped Whyte. Whyte is a solid fighter, but like most of this era has no real subtle skills, footwork, or other things one sees from boxers when the division was strong.
BUT your confusing the hype with a legitimate appreciation for boxing skills... It does not matter who was in the ring against Fury... He basically fought a similar fight to when he dethroned Klitsko. In both cases he shut his opponent down. In this fight he displayed skills that are objective, can be seen, and show true greatness. His jab was like a piston, he also used his feints with the jab expertly, his punches were laser accurate, watch the body shots... and his ability to move into position, including fighting going back was exceptional.
Fury is a great fighter and it shows with how he fights... The fact that he outclassed a typical opponent for this time in the division is irrelevant.Comment
