  • There are champions, winners, and then there are hero's.

Now I am not a hardcore Tyson Fury fan. And I don't think he has been a great heavyweight Champion.

But I have just been watching the post fight press conference.

Tyson Fury is for what he as been through and overcome, one of the few hero's in the game.

Understand what I am trying to say, you have winners or athletes who are good at their craft.

And people try and project onto them, and build them up as hero's. But are they hero's?

Tyson Fury I understand, he is a hero to his fans. I understand now.

Yes some people want him to carry on, and fight for the undisputed titles. But if he has achieved everything he ever wanted in the game.

Then I don't think he should fight on, Fury should only fight on if he has the passion.

If Tyson Fury carries on, he is only proving himself to the fans 'And their wants'. Yes that kind of requirement is what comes along with being Heavyweight Champion.

Champions have obligations, and a duty. I just don't think Fury wants to prove anything anymore to the fans, because he has proven everything he has ever wanted to himself.

I can remember when people used to mock Fury, I can remember when people would discriminate against his background. I can remember when he was stereotyped as some sort of clown, I can remember it all. Maybe it is these people that want Tyson Fury to carry on, but I don't think Fury has anything to prove anymore.

So if this is Tyson Fury's last fight, I must commend him on a great career, and a great comeback.

The reason why I have wrote this is because, I am sensing that Fury is 100% genuine that he will retire now.

    • We are watching the heavyweight goat ladies and gentlemen. Way too big for Ali too skilled for foreman/Lewis/Holyfield/Bowe.

Wilder goes down and gets up Whyte takes a dive and doesn't even try to get up what a ****in disgrace you knew at the weigh in's he didn't have that killer instinct he submitted before the fight began. Where you at redeemer?
He beat the count but was wobbly and the referee was within his right to stop the fight.

        • Weird. The original Tyson gets a ko 30000 ft in the sky, like an omen. Easy money.

          • It is an entirely different animal to be in the ring, but we still can look at this critically. Whyte simply never made any positive adjustments and right now Fury is an absolutely brilliant boxer on many levels. Whyte either had a horrible game plan or a horrible execution of his game plan because he really did get whipped.

nah since Wlad he's looked mediocre this division is subpar to say the least he's getting a way with one, IF and it's a big a if Usyk gets passed AJ he'll give him hell if not beat him, he's never had someone force the pace on him and because of that he's looked like he has an amazing engine but that's yet to be proven as he's always the one setting pace and Usyk will most definitely be the one to prove if he can keep up with the aforementioned "pace".

No way. Fury is the best heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis but that’s the extent of it. Beating a one-dimensional Wilder 3 times, an old Kltischko and an overweight lumbering Whyte is not GOAT stuff.

I've gotta disagree. Fury's victories are over quite a few heavyweights that can't box. While his size would have definitely been a challenge, he probably would've been stopped by an in their primes Holyfield and Tyson.... probably Razor Ruddock, Foreman and a few others.

Being undefeated goes a long way into overstating a fighter's ranking among the greats. Mayweather Jr is undefeated, but he's not the greatest boxer across all eras. He would have probably lost against an in his prime Sugar Ray Leonard. Fury would definitely have losses if he fought in eras where boxing talent was more prevalent.

                    • A beautiful uppercut from Fury. Of course, Whyte got ko'd with that by Joshua and Povetkin, and he hasn't worked on defending against that.

A spectacular tko, but a pretty bad heavyweight title fight in front of such a huge crowd. Disappointing, but not Fury's fault.

Whyte is levels below. Fury is an excellent to even great heavyweight, would be right up there in any era. But I can't say he's anywhere near the best of all time. Size and height are not everything, but certainly helps.

This era of heavyweights is poor, but Fury is special.
