Ugas doesn't throw a lot of punches anyway, but he usually keeps people off him by stalking them and hitting them with hard counters.

But Spence was able to evade most of those counters while applying relentless pressure, and every time Ugas tried to open up he would get hit hard and shell up again.

I noticed this in the pac fight too.

Every time Ugas tried to go for the KO he would get hit with a hard counter and quickly leave the pocket and fight on the outside.

The kind of pressure Spence put on him was always going to break him, and Spence knew that.
Spence probably beats any version of Ugas but I expected a better fight. I've seen Ugas far sharper with better timing. He looked a litte shopworn tonight. I doubt he'll have any significant win moving forward.

Spence didn't look that good to me early on but then he got in his rythm as the fight went on and looked better, albeit against a stationary target who wasn't punching back.

The fact that you keep calling the fight fixed shows that YDKSAB. you May as well not even be on this site....

      • If Crawford and Spence do agree to fight when is the earliest they'll fight? If they aim for the Mexican independence date that means Spence gets May, June, and a bit of July off but Crawford may want a tune up fight first.

        • We all know which opponent we want for Spence next. What about Ugas? I can't really speak to Ugas' overall performance, but he seemed to be getting battered by the end. Maybe he'll take a long break and enjoy his money, and come back early next year against someone like Crowley.

No its not Ugas fault, that's true, but again, if that was his only shot a victory, then he never belonged in the ring with Spence.

            • Jeez, I think Spence showing a little ring rust with his timing for a couple rounds seems reasonable. All this talk Crawford is gonna mop him up are tripping. Who's got the better resume at this point and 3 belts? Not saying Spence is gonna for sure win but cmon, this will be a great fight. We def learned he is vulnerable to the body when he starts firing off them shots.

Spence might be the best athlete in boxing.

              Is Spence/Crawford a bigger fight than GGG/Canelo 1 or 2???

              • Spence vs Crawford is truly a 50/50 fight. Please- for boxing- this has to be next for both men.

I mean when a guy looks smashed around but is trying to fight back... Its a brutal sport... But when the guy starts the round covering up... that tells you something.
I agree. I thought the Texas State Athletic officials got it right this time. You don't want to see a fighter lose an eye or career in just one fight. Let him live to fight another day. Ugas was obviously in pain. Those uppercuts Spence were landing were finally taking its toll on his right eye; It was shutting to the point of him backing up while wincing from the pain.

No, those fights were events, particularly the rematch. As popular as Spence and Crawford are among us who love the sport, they do not have the name recognition of Alvarez and Golovkin. But I am having problems coming up with a bigger fight today. MAYBE if Joshua beats Usyk in the rematch and Fury takes care of Whyte, Fury against Joshua is bigger. But that is it.

I feel Crawford fights a useless mandatory before the Spence fight. If we get Spence/Crawford signed before the end of 2022, I am excited. November/December, or the first big fight to bring in 2023 is good with me.
